Great news.

He can go on the bench though and watch Henderson, waiting for his chance.

I’d sooner he was watching him from the pitch, just a few yards ahead. Also, Hendo has ran himself into the ground for the last few months. He deserves and needs a rest.

Even with Milner and Keita out, we're near a position where we could put out a really decent second string for the FA Cup:

Alisson, Robertson, Gomez, Van Dijk, TAA, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Salah, Mane, Firmino

Adrian, Lamouchi, Matip, Lovren, Williams, Chirivella/Ox, Lallana, Jones, Minamino, Origi, Elliott

Why are we playing Forest’s manager?

What's with the Chirivella/Ox conundrum?

Why risk Virg TAA and Robbo and both Mo and Salah? 3 games in 6 days would suggest them players will be given this game off.  Matip and Lovren should start, good game to get them up to fitness, Minamino, Origi and Lallana and probably Jones will start too

Chirivella’s a better fit for in front of the defence but maybe Lallana could drop back there and Ox could come in a bit further up.

Maybe you're right, but from what I've seen of him, i think he might be a disaster there on his own. He looked decent v Everton because Lallana was next to him doing all the Klopp stuff.

Reportedly had his house burgled last night while he and his wife were at Anfield.

Seems his car has been recovered from Wigan.

Interesting this thread had not been bumped since January. Immense credit frequently goes to Van Dijk and Alisson for shoring up the team, but Fabinho's name is lost in the shuffle at times. The days (years) of yearning for even a passable defensive midfielder feel long ago; Fabinho has that to his game and so much more. A halycon time.

He's been our best player since the league restarted. When he plays like that and like he did for the second half of last season, he's top 3 in the world. I'd put only Kimmich and Casemiro at his level in his position.

Do man city have a player in his position or are they all attacking midfielders? For some reason I see Gungongan in a similar position.
