Bench for the final

The first eleven picks itself but who will be the 7 on the bench?

Mignolet

Klavan

Moreno

Lallana

Solanke

The above 5 are close to nailed on.

The last 2 will probably come from Clyne, Can and Ings. Who do you think will be picked and also who would you choose?

We're fucked.

Faith, man!  There's not a game-changer on that bench, but with our first XI we don't need one.  Instead, we have to pick 7 from 8 competent and (mostly) experienced professionals.

Our last European Final was just two years ago.  As a mark of how far we've come, here's our starting line-up and bench from Basel.

GK 22  Simon Mignolet

RB 2  Nathaniel Clyne

CB 6  Dejan Lovren

CB 4  Kolo Touré

LB 18  Alberto Moreno

CM 7  James Milner (c)

CM 23  Emre Can

RW 20  Adam Lallana

AM 11  Roberto Firmino

LW 10  Philippe Coutinho

CF 15  Daniel Sturridge

GK 52  Danny Ward

DF 37  Martin Škrtel

MF 14  Jordan Henderson

MF 21  Lucas

MF 24  Joe Allen

FW 9  Christian Benteke

FW 27  Divock Origi

Real will have a bench full of players that offer something different without much of a drop in quality.

We have a bench full of players that are worse than the first 11 in their given positions.

So it's going to be difficult, if something isn't working out for Real then they can make tactical substitutions and rejig without much cause for concern.

If something isn't working out for us then the first 11 are the ones who need to rejig themselves, other than maybe Lallana coming on there's no real tactical subs he can make.

Then in the 80th minute it's gonna be Klavan on if we're winning, or Solanke on if we're losing.

Neither of those scenarios are good for my nerves but we're guaranteed to have one of them.
