Arteta coincided with some phenomenal Spanish midfielders, but you would have thought he could have been a squad man.

 

Kendall, for all the rivalry, was a smashing player and a very good manager too, certainly in his first spell at Everton. Don’t know why he didn’t get a cap, or many of them to be fair.

Pallister played for England on a number of occasions. Case, Di Canio and Bruce didn’t win any senior caps. Bruce’s son, Alex played for Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
