He is actually ok Harry Maguire, a complete reincarnation of Richard Dunne, who was also a decent player and had a long career in the top flight. Same better than you think ability on the ball, same turning circle of an oil tanker.

Damned with faint praise if I’ve ever seen one. However I can’t argue with you and Numero about his lack of pace.

I could have mentioned good in the air too. Always thought Dunne was a good player, over 400 premier league games, 80 caps for Ireland. Maguire will be doing well to match those. He even won Man City's player of the year award 4 times!

No-one seems to be considering the obvious. Perhaps Maguire won player of the season in both Winter and Spring. In which case he could have won four players of the season if he had won in Autumn and Summer.

I would have imagined Juventus being all over Martial they always seem to pull off bargains. Good signing for Spurs if they manage it. Improvement on that diving cunt Lamela. Anyway, we shouldnt sign him cause we cant. Utd wont deal with us. As for central midfield, i would still want us to sign someone like Neves, or no, i want us to sign Neves.

Indeed. Lawrenson was a brilliant footballer.

Despite being a huge tit Lawrenson was a superb player and was equally good anywhere in the back line or across the midfield, very similar to Stevie Nicol in that respect. These type of players would be out of our price range unless we spot them young.

I certainly recall seeing him play at full back, centre midfield, and of course central defence for Ireland. He could play almost anywhere, had good technique, strength, and speed.

I played against Richard Dunne in a friendly when he was at Everton as an 18 year old. I didn't get a sniff. His lack of pace was made up by his ability to read the game 2 passes ahead.

A few of the LFC journos seem to be saying we’ll be after a striker who can play right across the front 3 as well as Fekir, whereas others are being less clear about it, leading me to think Fekir may be that player.

Would be amazed if we’re after both, the two already coming in and a world class keeper. Definitely that would be all we do this summer if those all happened.

Believe it when I see it, but when you go from what we were 3 years ago to the Champions League final while turning a profit, and have improved our recruitment to the extent seen recently, you have to allow yourself a brief period of optimism.

All our rumoured targets seem to be big money buys.  Anyone heard anything about an 'Andy Robertson' type signing ie cheap, available and fits the system?

Dani Ceballos was rumoured, but that would be either in Keita's or Fekir's position, so I doubt he's one we're looking at now.

I don't think we've seen any links to any of those players this summer other than Ceballos, come to think of it. Bit strange given how well the last one worked but I suppose it's always a risk and maybe the strategy is that now we've the best part of the team in place, why take any chances? Best just to get guaranteed quality and really go for the league and CL over the next few seasons.

Dunne was a very good player in his day. Had a tendancy to score a good few own goals and give away the odd penalty, but a strong defender. Think he got in one or two premier league teams of the season.

Ceballos wants to stay in Spain and he wasnt cheap as in like Robertson fee range. The rumored fee was around 25-35 million Euros. I thought we would be going for a few people on a free to balance the books but looks like we are spending big on real priority positions which is good to see.

I have been reading links to people in all positions but my only concern is Moreno at LB. There havent been any links to any LB so far. Maybe Milner will play their in some games but I would prefer a specialist.

Would there be anyone in the three relegated squads who is bit of a rough diamond with bags of energy/pace and a brain to listen to what Jurgen says & then apply it?
