If we are not signing Fekir then we are left with a 60m and 360pw situation, to go out there and target a 'statement' signing for the club to propel us into the spotlight. Go throw that at Madrid, offer them their asking price for James Rodriguez and see what they actually say when we slap the money on the table, and see what his agent says when we offer to double his current 110k pw wages.

Honestly it sounds mental even typing this out, but money talks in football, and if we are serious in making a statement then we couldn't make a bigger one than this...

Exactly lid.

Karius and Lovren can't start, Moreno shouldn't be the back up, if they do/are it will be much of the same.

You have to be almost perfect to win the league now and the midfield moves show that klopp knows this and means business. Fekir, fabinho and Keita would be immense.

However, there are still issues and everyone knows what they are. If he keeps the players that clearly aren't good enough to start (some shouldn't be back up either) then he will be let down again and again.

Everyone knows what we need in certain positions whilst other positions are open to debate. As the cups are probably our best chance, we need to ensure we don't have players that cause panic and can drop a massive clanger at any moment. Fear in the stands transmits onto the pitch and the psychological element is huge too. Opposition players will be confident they can target and expose certain players.

Fekir, Cb, gk, winger back up, striker, lb cover.

If we do this, we can then go into the season knowing we have done all we can. Some players can cover full back and a position further forward too.

We have plenty of junk to get rid of and this summer could be the final clear out and for the first time since 1990 we might be able to get to the magical position of adding one or 2 top players a year and keeping the squad together.

We aren't getting rid of lovren so no point in discussing it really.

In fact I'd be surprised if there is any movement at all from us unless some fundamental shifts occur on the prices for keepers and Fekir. In fact we haven't been linked with anyone credibly as an alternative to fekir or Alisson at all (oblak seems to be more of fans speculating unless I've missed anything).

We wasn't linked with Fabinho either. Just because the rags and ITKs haven't got a clue, the club could be working on deals in quiet.

In an era when the Express sports reporting has reached the bottom of the barrel, they've outdone themselves here. The entire basis of claiming Klopp is working on a secret deal stems from this one line.

“I’m sure a lot of work is going on in the background."

Danny Ings has decided to look for a move from Liverpool. Tough decision, but wants to play regularly. Lots of clubs will be interested. Liverpool would be happy for him to stay.

No offence to him, but a bit worrying that they'd be happy for him to stay. Unless that's just Joyce being nice about him.

More like we don’t want to devalue an asset by saying ‘nice lad, but thank fuck for that’.

We’ll never know how good he could of been, but it’s the right move for all concerned.

Where joyce says Liverpool would be happy he means Jurgen would be happy.

Feel for Ings. Think he should have been a sub for the Champions League final.

Ings would have been as good as he was with or without the injuries, he’s just not good enough for a top team. In fact I’d say the injuries gave him a longer Liverpool career than he would have had had he not had the injuries.

That pre supposes he would not have kicked on from all the goals he had scored before he joined. And I think that is up for debate.

im going to disagree as i dont really think he has had much chance to show what he could do with the bad luck with injuries he knows where the goal is and think as a rotational player with firmino i think he could bag 15/20 goals a season
