Not really , Lovren and Matip were under no pressure all night, Spurs will be a lot different.

He'll bench Lovren

Logically you would think so.

I get the feeling Klopp likes to go against the grain a bit. Wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt change it

Difficult to take any conclusions out of this one given Huddersfield's Wijnaldum-esque performance, but Milner's off the ball movement is vastly superior to that of Gini and AOC. He picks up some excellent positions which at least give the centre-backs the opportunity to play the ball into midfield instead of just completely bypassing it.

That's the second time this season an opposing team has given up as soon as we scored once (the other was Swansea at Anfield).

Bizarre. We continue to basically announce to everyone that if you pack your final third that we're there to be had on the break. Why any manager would set his team out to play that way, knowing what we're like, is beyond me.

Almost criminal there from Wagner. I would have said he would have been an interesting candidate to manage us in a few years if he continued to impress over the next few years but that's put me right off him.

Nice one Liverpool. Talk of a mini crisis appears to have been overhyped but the form must continue. Jurgens old mukker made it a lot easier for us tonight with the way he played for 65 to 75 minutes. Even at 2-0 down they did not look to push against us despite our last two results. Credit to the players tonight. Loads would have given them shit if we had drawn or worse lost tonight. It looked like we switched off for the last 5 to 10 minutes as they finally started to try and get a consolation goal. And the good news is Swansea beat Arsenal 3-1 after giving Arsenal a goal start. Spurs and the Mancs play tomorrow so one or both are going to drop points.

A very welcome win.

Did what we had to do albeit against a team showing just about the least amount of ambition (maybe Bitters in league game aside) I have seen against us all season.

Was literally a case of park bus but have no out at all even when 2 down - nothing, strange stuff.

Fair do's to Can for having a dig, he got a reward - we don't do it enough IMO....until then it looked like we were gonna struggle to break them down.

Thought Firmino's finish was really clever - OK we would be going spare if one of our keepers got done like that, but it was clever and well executed - his options aside from that were not all that. Credit to him.

I still don't get why we play Gomez at RB against bus parkers - he just offers nothing threatening going forward, he is a centre half essentially and they don't really have beating a man and crossing in their arsenal which is what we need from the player in that RB position.

TAA is better IMO for these games - Robertson's delivery isn't great but at least he gets out wide and tries something and gets balls put in.....Gomez is a decent defender but is a bad choice at RB in these games where stretching teams wide is important as they make game narrow.

I thought the midfield was quietly effective at just keeping ball moving nicely but they were under zero pressure.

A win against bus parkers though with no scares and no problems is welcome and can't complain about 3 pts won with no drama and sets us up nicely for a big game Sunday.

That's a game that doesn't tell us anything about where we are as a team. It's like the game at Stoke a few months ago, where we were well on top yet at the same time never looked like running riot.

Huddersfield barely offered a threat and Karius had a very comfortable evening. He made a straightforward save from the first chance of the game, and claimed a couple of high balls into the area but otherwise, he had nothing to do. Bar an effort from Ince that was blocked by Gomez late on in the game, and an earlier free kick curled well wide by Howe, we were never under any pressure.

At the other end, Salah flitted in and out of the game, missing an easy chance before getting his goal from the penalty spot. He always seems to miss easy chances in games before finding the net moments later. Mane got an assist for the second goal but all night his touch was off. He had a couple of chances in the second half, heading straight at the keeper from a Can cross and then heading wide when he simply needed to head it over the keeper and in. Firmino was lively and looked strong against a physical back line, and he took his goal really well by putting it in from an acute angle. He would have got daggers from his teammates had that not gone in though.

Our midfield weren't brilliant but they still had far too much for Huddersfield. Can seemed to be operating from the right for a lot of the game, and he got a clean hit on his shot that took a slight deflection before flying in to give us the lead. It was one of those games where he could easily switch off but he stayed focussed and discipled throughout, even earning the penalty that finally killed the game off. Milner was his busy self, linking with Robertson down our left and keeping play moving. Henderson looked really up for it at the start, and he was actually physically imposing himself on Huddersfield's midfielders off the ball, barking at them and pushing them around. Far better than the frequent timidity we get from him, although again the standard and approach of the opposition don't tell us much about what we are.

The defence were untroubled, very rarely called upon to actually defend. Minor blips aside, they maintained concentration for the whole game.

I would have taken Salah off after he scored his penalty, to bring Solanke or Ings on up front as the contest was over by then (it was probably over by half time in truth). These guys need meaningful minutes to see if they can create or get on the end of something. Getting off the mark with a goal or two will help them and help us, especially as we are probably not going to be reinforcing our attack by tomorrow night. I feel that Klopp could make such switches much sooner while the players still have the hunger to try and make an impact. Making the change with only 5 minutes to go does our replacements no good as we don't carry on extending the opposition or creating chances. These guys are just running around as the clock winds down. How can we expect an impact when we need it if they aren't given enough to help them make an impact?
