As the January transfer window nears its knee-trembling climax, and following the disappointing defeat to bottom club Swansea City, what looks like a promising season to date could still go either way.

The FA Cup provides a welcome distraction from the intensity of the Premier League this weekend, but over the coming months will the Reds have what it takes to seal the Champions League deal when our bread and butter hostilities resume?

Don't think we'll finish top 4.

On paper our first 19 fixtures were harder than our last 19 will be so I reckon we'd have been alright as long as we were smart, but we aren't smart are we.

Probable banana skins are

Tottenham at home

Southampton away, it's right before Porto away so players might be rested.

United away, third game in a week and right after Porto at home so if that game ends up being a hard graft/goes to extra time then the mancs might do us.

Everton away, sandwiched between our champions league quarter final games, we might be distracted and can see them being nasty twats and wanting to end our run.

Chelsea away, right after the champions league semi final second leg, we'll probably be tired.

Which leads me to...

Top 4 won't matter anyway because we're winning number 6 and getting in the snide way!
