The ‘Buy Nabil Fekir’ Campaign

Recommended Posts

Does this need it’s own thread? No. Should I have posted it elsewhere? Probably. But here’s the person we should buy to replace Coutinho. I say this after watching literally thousands of seconds of video. People of the World... unite!

In terms of being a Coutinho replacement, he's a more obvious choice than Lemar. As a team, we look more dangerous with players who can pick a pass but can also carry the ball effectively, and that is clearly Fekir's game. He's also effective from set pieces. We get up the pitch, get numbers in attack and pull the opposition all over the place with our pace and movement, so that sort of player would thrive under Klopp.

That said, I've not seen enough of Fekir to judge his consistency or whether or not he has a tendency to disappear when the chips are down. Also, I don't know if his childhood dream was to play for one of the two Spanish cunts.

I actually don't see us going back in for Lemar in the summer, because I think we signed that 'type' of player in Oxlade-Chamberlain back in August. AOC ticks pretty much the same boxes as Lemar (except he is predominantly right footed rather than left) and he was both cheaper and more of a known quantity for this league. Plus, he has Southampton connections which is fanwank material for our transfer committee! Fekir offers more of what we've just lost with the sale of Coutinho.

Mere monitoring is hardly enough. He needs aggressive monitoring, maybe we could be poised for something as well. A swoop or somesuch.

Not the Liverpool Way.  A good 6 months monitoring , then a polite enquiry only to find Barca have turned his head,

I am fully onboard for this campaign and am willing to make campaign speeches or appearances or whatever you need.

I will, of course, expect your support for my "Buy Adrien Rabiot" campaign in exchange. Plus some shady campaign contributions and for you to hire my nephew's firm to put together the flyover banners.

We were probably in with a chance of signing this lad but by starting this thread NV has made sure that he’ll end up at the Mancs within the next 18 months and you’ll all look like twats.

Yeah, I’ve fucked it. That’s for sure.

    • Jurgen Klopp has given hope to the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Adam Lallana as the club braces itself for a heavy schedule of games in the next month.

With the return of the Champions League as well as the League Cup, squad rotation will be required so that players stay fresh.

Speaking ahead of the fixture against Arsenal on Saturday evening, Klopp said those on the periphery will get their chance.

Liverpool Echo reported Klopp as saying:

“Every year is the same and always in the same moment at the beginning of the season.

“You want to have that, and if you don't have it then you have injuries from pre-season and that's the last thing you want.

“ Still, I would say in this moment, Shaq didn't play enough, he is in a really good shape.

“Adam didn't play enough, in a really good shape. Dejan didn't play enough, in a really good shape.

“These are completely normal things. Some others might also say that they don't play enough.

“But we have to prepare for a season.

“At the start of the season without intensity, you try to get rhythm, you try to get stability at the beginning. It's not a moment where you change too many things.

“Then it will happen automatically and in the next (few) weeks you have to (change things) and everything will be fine then.

Klopp said he was happy to give his stars a couple of days off during the week after a busier than normal workload to start the season which has included the Community Shield and the Super Cup.

“ I was really happy for the boys to give them the two days off.

“We didn't plan it, but it's easier when you win so we didn't tell them beforehand.

“Somebody needs to remind me that it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a day off!

“I had Sunday off, Monday I was working. Sunday I watched football, the Chelsea v Leicester game. That was nice.”

Klopp is not putting too much emphasis on a clash against a top six opponent as he rightly says that every game is important if you want to have ultimate success come the end of the season.

“I had a couple of years ago a really good record in the mini-league then didn't pick up enough points in the other games.

“Then last year the record was not bad but was obviously for people not good enough because we drew a lot.

“ We have to get as many points as possible and we cannot decide where we get them.

“We're Liverpool and every week we have to try to win, and that's what we will do.

“I don't think this result on Saturday will be the decisive result of the season.”

    • Considering they were playing in Warsaw I'd assumed it was something more broadly anti-Catholic.  Pathetic really.
    • I think it's pretty clear they've issued that because as long as we're still actually under contract with New Balance it would be in extremely poor taste to issue a statement saying we're planning to switch a year from now.   Sort of colours the relationship with New Balance, and we still have a whole year to go (minimum) in that relationship. I expect it's sorted behind closed doors, but won't be made public until some respectable time, probably in the spring some time when the NB deal is about to expire.
    • Also, I don't know if there are many finer allegories for the human condition than Seamus Coleman's seemingly eternal struggle to keep his tongue in his mouth.  Despite the constant effort he's always destined to fail, poor lad.
