Go Sober for Mind

Hey guys and girls.

I’d appreciate it greatly if you could read my story below and if you feel compelled please can you donate to this cause.

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dan-jones40

For those that know me, know that I am partial to the odd drink every now and again. I lost a dear friend 9 years ago and unfortunately wasn’t able to do more for him. I’ve decided that I’d like to try and do more for others in his name.

I am aiming at raising £1,000 in the Name of my good friend Jamie Folwell for the Charity Mind which I know is a charity that was very close to his heart.

Now I can’t run, so a marathon was out of the question and I am certainly not jumping out of no plane so I have decided to go Sober for a year. Yes that is no alcohol for 1 whole year until our annual drinks next year in Jamie’s memory.

I hope you understand how hard this will be for me and I hope that you will dig deep in keeping me motivated throughout the year.

Thanks for all of your donations in advance.

I am going to donate £48. This is going to be donated thus:

£1 per month for the first 4 months. £4

£2 month 5. £6

£3 month 6. £9

£4 month 7. £13

£5 month 8. £18

£6 month 9. £24

£7 month 10. £31

£8 month 11. £39

£9 month 12. £48

Hopefully my maths is correct and I can donate to the cause month by month or the deals off. You drink, the deals off. You will keep all the donations made until the deal ends, up until the end of month 12.

Deal?

That’s fucking awesome and that kind of donations will really help being motivated. But I won’t cave in.

The wife is doing RED (run every day) January for Mind, if you’re mates with me on faceaids you’ll be bored shitless by it all by now.

A whole year is some target mate!

Get paid on the 31st, will donate then as it’s a brilliant charity and one hell of a commitment.

I think you know how hard this will be for me. But it had to be hard, if it was easy what would the point of doing it?

And not only do I raise money, hopefully I lose weight and feel better for it in the long run.
