Does anyone use any music trackers? and if so what are the best ones?

What CD was the best one by a mile but it's dead now and sadly missed. I'm on Waffles and Apollo as well and they are good but nowhere near as good really. What was superb for the bios and the community and the connections between bands. Great for discovering stuff. I have no invites either of my current ones soz.

Yeah, I heard WhatCD was by far and away the best and it was only Waffles that tried to compete in those days. If you don't mind me asking which one do you prefer, Apollo or Waffles?

Anyone have any invites for private trackers? Got full fibre and finally got my seedbox set up running through a VPN again so looking to go full pirate rebel again and start downloading more movies, TV shows and porn than is possible to watch in 15 lifetimes.

I’ve got some IP Torrents invites, PM me your email address.

Didn’t I invite you already, you should have an account? Edit: think your account was deleted, but I’m sure @Sugar Ape will have some. I don’t have any because I’m just under 1 ratio.

Yeah mate it got deleted because I moved to a Chromebook and didn’t realise I could no longer seed! Getting a new device shortly so will be able to seed. I think I’ll have to use a different email address in case they recognise the previous one?

I would mate, just in case they kept a record and it’s automatically flagged.

I was looking into torrents on a Macbook and read about an application called Transmission. Also read that I can get it onto my Chromebook via Linux so just gave it a whirl. Fuck me!

I have been using JS Torrent for years and a 15gb 4k movie would usually take a couple of hours (I’m on 200mb fibre).

With transmission I just got a 13gb movie in 15 mins. Mental. Wish I’d known a hell of a lot sooner.

Transmission is good, though I use QBitTorrent these days as Transmission isn't really looked after anymore.

I just can’t believe the difference in download speed mate. Didn’t realise the client was so important for that.

Testing it again now with a 10gb movie. Started the download 8 mins ago and 5gb downloaded already.

Absolute game changer for me this.

And it seeds too (because it’s Linux and not ChromeOS).

So it's probably because of the default settings of the previous client, but having it set up right like Transmission does from the outset is important. The most important thing - all other things being equal - is the quality of the seeds, which is where a private tracker comes in. Still, if you're getting good speeds now... good times.

Don’t think it’s settings mate, I spent ages trying to speed things up with JS but it made no difference at all. I reckon it must be a ChromeOS thing.
