Echoing the Rev from earlier , I was very surprised that he played so long against West 'Am and Klopp seemingly went against all of his usual principles with injured players' returns.

Reading those comments from Jurgen is making me think this is some sort of arrangement, and he’s giving Senegal a bit of toffee and also managing the Liverpool fans’ expectations too.

 

My best guess is the deal was for them to qualify, then he can cry off for the second game, but everyone can save face with a bit of nice PR all round.

 

The injury isn’t a yes/no sort of thing, as it will be a matter of degrees and the player being nursed though to full fitness.

 

I reckon we will see him against Southampton but he won’t play the full match.

We'll see on Saturday but I wouldn't be surprised if we've done a deal to get him back early -maybe written off our claim for his wages during his last injury.

If it really is a late decision then rest him and keep him for Seville on Tuesday. Phil is back and can play front left or Chamberlain can do it with Phil in midfield. We've options at least.
