Well, some people might be keen to keep children in a pre-pubescent state for as long as possible...

Out of interest, how old are the dogs whose cocks you think touching shouldn’t be illegal? Pups or fully grown?

They are in the house-

A collective of self-described "gay furry hackers" have released 2GB of data lifted from the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think-tank behind Project 2025 - a set of proposals that would bring the USA closer to being an authoritarian state.

The hacktivist group, known as SiegedSec, has been running a campaign it calls "OpTransRights," targeting (mostly government) websites to disrupt efforts to enact or enforce anti-trans and anti-abortion laws.

SiegedSec apparently chose the Heritage Foundation for its Project 2025 plans, which Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump favours.

Project 2025 includes sweeping reforms to consolidate executive power, enforce Christian values across the government and society and remove funding for climate science.

The Heritage Foundation itself has a staunchly conservative view of many items on the political agenda. It is against abortion, LGBT rights and funding for Ukraine, while also rejecting the scientific consensus on climate change. It has attracted widespread criticism from progressive and left-leaning groups as a result.

Earlier this month Twitter/X banned SiegedSec's official account on the platform.

Whilst I have the greatest sympathy for whatever it is these young people are going through, medically stopping a natural process still seems wrong. Each to their own and all that though.

That can't be a blanket thing, though: there are many, many natural processes that are routinely stopped or delayed for the benefit of the patient.

I'd rather leave the judgement to doctors, on a case-by-case basis, than have it imposed by some politician.

Do you have an example for the first one - that isn't life threatening?

Your second point - absolutely. I'm not qualified to make judgements either way, and if someone wants to do that to themselves (or allow their children to do it) who am I to say? Still seems wrong though.

HRT.  Or any interventions against natural, degenerative processes that come with ageing.

I'm not sure that's the same as preventing a child from going through puberty, but as I said, I don't know these children, nor am I a qualified psychologist. Guess we'll have to disagree.

HRT is used to relieve the symptoms of the menopause. It replaces oestrogen and progesterone which are important to a woman.

HRT is about restoring female hormones, so nothing like puberty blockers at all really.

Thanks, doctor, I really had no idea what HRT was; I just randomly bashed letters on the keyboard and hoped it would answer RT's question.

How does it work with children requesting puberty blockers anyway? Do they decide off their own bat that they're born into the wrong body, need them and go to the doctors asking for them? Or do they feel not quite 'normal' compared to their peers, speak to someone else (a parent, a teacher, someone else) who advises them to speak to a doctor?

Where does the possibility of being the 'wrong gender' and needing to change it arise?

Genuine questions. I'm curious to know the process and how a child decides (or someone else decides for them) that they are the wrong gender, rather than, say, gay, or just different from society's cultural norms. I wonder how many boys who might have grown up to be gay, or hetro for that matter, have been convinced that they are a girl in a boys body and undergone puberty blocking therapy because they liked doing 'typical girls things' or behaved in an effeminate manner.

There's rules in the UK around how close you can put chippies to schools, let alone having a kid decide it knows enough to make a body altering decision.

Not sure how laws of commerce are supposed to translate to individual rights tbh.

Whatever you think about this "topic" that is a real slippery slope.
