I'd never even heard of her until I looked her up just now.

Clark? Nah, I didn't expect many would. She's great though, but the hysteria every time she gets a hard foul is absurd.

WNBA is well worth a watch (assuming you already like bball of course)

My eldest had loves it, but doesn't really watch the women's league.

I actually presumed it must be a bloke the way this thread is.

If you have tnt/discovery+ and go on the app, you can go to 'all sports' and find the basketball, including a bunch of WNBA games. Rookie class this season has 4/5 real top drawer talents coming through.

Loads of missed layups, but good competitive matches all round.

I love women, credit to me, but the possibility of a tiny girl athlete getting steamrolled by someone identifying as a woman is very amusing.  I may have said this before, the whole thing is hilarious.

The idea that you could be on the sidelines, pointing at the bloke steamrolling the girl and complaining that it’s unfair but being labelled as the baddie, or the girl complaining and being banned - is fucking mental.

Women don’t even watch the WNBA.

Which always takes me back to this from Bill Burr.

Viewership up 200% this season.

Thankfully Bill's got about five years of newer material.

She's brilliant. Runs a classic point guard game while having an on-call game modelled after Curry. And she's got a great shot on her. Still a rookie though, lots of turnovers as she's getting full court pressure all game every game. Broke all sorts of college records and is already breaking rookie records in the league.

Meanwhile, the draft class is getting a rough reception from the league vets and social media fandom has been totally balanced, well-informed and rational about it all, as you'd expect.

There's a more senior player in the league, Ionescu, who's probably going to be the main ball handler for their Olympic side that is also a great watch for pretty much the same reasons.

Cheers, but why is she getting so much online vitriol, has she said something political/controversial?

I just don't get it.

How many thousand blokes of her age do you think are better than her?

She is insanely popular and attracting eyes on women's basketball and old/current players are covertly making this a bit of a race issue, because she is white.

Cue the alt right supporting her in an over the top manner and the woke left not appreciating that she isn't speaking up on social issues and whatnot.

Pretty much. Although everything posted about also has "why don't you post about [insert significantly less talented player here]" and free flowing accusations of racism for saying anything positive about her.

It's weird as fuck.

Edit: she's managing with relative class throughout.

From what I've read (in the last ten minutes, admittedly), I think there's a racial element that's been jumped on by the usual suspects.
