Van drives into crowds in Barcelona

No

Although I am not sure why Spain has been targeted, if it is the usual suspects. Thought Spain stopped being involved following the last attack there.

Could be accidental, but I doubt it.

Those roads either side of the pedestrian thoroughfare in the centre of Las Ramblas are very narrow and usually quite busy, so it's difficult to build up to a decent speed unless it's deliberately attempted.

If deliberate, you'd imagine it was Islamic funnymentalists. However, there's been a recent build up in semi-violent attacks by the anti-tourist Arran group, part of a larger group called the CUP. Doesn't sound like their way of operating though, to be fair.

Just confirmed that the driver is at large, having fled on foot.

Something going down with a shitload of armed police crawling against a wall captured on a phone, replaying on Sky.

Local news is reporting 20 injured and at least 3 people have died :( Local radio citing police sources is saying 13 :/

Flicking through news channels for more info and fucking Euronews is showing something about Hong Kong dancing. Al Jazeera in Qatar is showing more coverage than a fucking European channel.

Scary as I know that area really well from years back :(  I live in Costa Del Sol not far from Marbella now, wonder how long it takes for this to come down here assuming its ISIS/terrorist related. There's shitloads of tourists here at the moment.

Just seen the unedited images of the victims, which Sky are showing as blurred, heartbreaking. Based on which be amazed if just one person has passed away. Hope it is as low as possible but looking at that footage, I feel sick.

Some cunt on twitter just retweeted footage of the victims that that uber cunt Tommy Robinson put up.

Lots of people down and what looked like a mother and toddler on the ground unresponsive and covered in blood.

Wish I could unsee that. Fucking heartbreaking.

Fucking cowards.

Sometimes I feel if these cunts want a war we should fucking give them one and wipe the entire region off the map. Pray to Mecca then when it is a mushroom cloud.

Fair play to neg me. I was out of line but I have just watched a video of mangled women and children in a shopping street in a European city.

Nothing Nothing justifies that.

We are cunts but driving a van over toddlers is fucking well beyond the pale.

Change your mind if it was Church st?

Fair enough, it's a visceral response.

All been done before hasn't it? Droning toddlers is beyond the pale, etc.

Depressing as fuck.

No need to go to such extremes, you only need to wipe religion out. Then turn Mecca into something useful, like a bingo hall.

    • Jürgen Klopp has spoken of his true joy in getting his squad back together for full-scale training ahead of the resumption of the Premier League season on the 17th of June.

The Reds stand on the cusp of a deserved title victory, needing just two more wins from their remaining fixtures to clinch number 19.

Rather than making up for lost time, Klopp told the Official site that he is taking a methodical approach.

“We could work on all the things we wanted to work on.

“The first week was already really good with the small groups, I enjoyed that as well, because it was just important to get on track again, to get used to the pitch and ball and boots and all that stuff.

“And now we work on tactical things, that works really well.

“We don't have to be match-fit now.

“We try it with increasing intensity, day by day, but we have to be fit on the 19th or 20th, whichever day they will give us against Everton, I think.

“That’s the moment when we want to be at 100 per cent."

Once the season resumes in earnest, it will be the best part of three months since a competitive match was played.

In that time, players have been able to give their mind and body a rest, but with everything set to be condensed, the manager feels one season will roll into the next.

“It is a roundabout three weeks until the resumption.

“That is good. We want to use that and we will. It’s our pre-season; how I said, we don’t expect a long break in between the seasons, so this is a very important period for us.

“We never had nine weeks without football training in our lives – since we played football, pretty much. That’s all different but interesting as well.

“We enjoy the situation, that’s really all good.

“And it makes all the difference for us, to be honest, to come together and have this hour or two here together.

“You get this contact, feedback as well on the pitch directly, not via a computer or a screen. It's a massive, massive lift."

The next step in the process is the actual dates of when the remaining fixtures will be played.

Klopp says that is something the whole squad is looking forward to hearing about.   "Now of course, it’s more and more interesting when we play where, the times are really important because we will see how we can organise the travel stuff.    "So, the situation keeps us busy, that’s absolutely OK.   "But on the pitch everything is fine, that’s really great.   "Around, we organise it as good as possible and use the situation.”
