I agree loads of arseholes going to Ingurland games are racists. I've seen it first hand.   Loads of boos the other night when the team took the knee sums them up. Not fair to say loads of Bloos are racists ; Scousers in general aren't given the multi=cultural nature of the City.

My experience of bloos is that they are far more racist than ourselves, even their local element. I was at those infamous John Barnes games in the 1980s and have mates who are blues. They do appear to have a strong racist element, even now.

Gareth fucking Southgate. I can't stand his stupid fucking face and his teeth. Went off the cunt after having to endure the cunt's face cashing in on his pathetic penalty miss to pick up 50 large from Pizzacunt. Absolute tool and tactically inept. Other than that he's great.

Southgoat is a fucking buffoon. If Trent was Brazilian, he be lorded as the next Cafu, Alves or Roberto Carlos. He’d get into any other squad in world football.

Supporters who say he can’t defend are idiots as well. He’s not as good at defending as he is going forwards but, at worst, he’s solid at defending. And he plays in a side and formation where he’s very exposed.

I get the general feeling of our fans not caring about England. I feel the same, however, it our players are playing, I want them to play well.

For example, Hendo missed a load of shit because England won that shootout v Columbia. If England had lost, he’d have been public enemy #1.

Personally, I’d rather Trent had a rest but I appreciate from his POV he’ll be gutted. Chance to play in the Euros, which is virtually a home tournament for England and likely a decent chance to win it (yes, I went there!), whether he cares about England or not, is a great chance for personal glory.

Roberto Carlos and Alves were only lauded in their mid 20s. Both were seen as far too attacking for a fullback.

The former was binned off at Inter Milan (yes, I know Uncle Woy was the manager) and the latter nearly came to us as a right midfielder before joining Barca 2 seasons later. We got Jermaine Pennant instead.

Cafu was always a brilliant defender.

Trent is only 22.

In 2 years, no one will be talking about his limitations.

The same thing happened with Ashley Cole.

I don’t think any Liverpool supporters, ie those who know him best, talk about his limitations.

He gets caught out a bit but that’s also the way we play. It’s been highlighted more this season without Gomez, Matip and, especially, Henderson.

No matter what way anybody but Southgoat looks at it, the positives far out the negatives - I don’t think they are even negatives.

Trent offers more than Cole attacking, maybe not as good a defender (Cole was a brilliant defender) but he’s easily good enough.

Trent is an absolutely brilliant footballer.

Hmmmm. We had racist monkey chants at JB before he signed and other black players, which was distasteful so Im not sure we can say we were better than them before we signed him.

Thankfully, when JB signed for us, that chanting stopped overnight. The everton chanting in the Anfield debry was a disgrace.

No arguments from me on Trent.

Cole was a converted winger. He didn't start off as a brilliant defender. Far from it.

I spent a fair bit of time watching the Arse in the early naughties, and the fans used to constantly give him shit for getting caught out of position.

That's in part why I think he left. And that was after establishing himself as a top quality full back, which is why Chelsea bought him.

He was amazing in attack, just not in the same way as Trent. He was quick, tricky, and took players on.

I think there's a real similarity there.

Not sure Cole was amazing, he was the best around the league then, but it was a different time. Flanagan was Cafu for awhile.

I would think TAA already has more PL assists than Cole.

Always thought Ivanovic was more of a threat in big games.

I think you'd be hard pushed to find a better left back.

The way we play with our full backs now is not the norm. The way Ashley Cole played left back was and still is the norm for most top clubs.

He'd get into pretty much any side today.

Yes,we've had a racist element but its never been as vocal as Everton's.

I actually thought today he wasn't quite on it, there was even a point I thought he looked a bit mentally knackered (perhaps for the reason @AngryOfTuebrook said). It really shows the level he's got to that a 7/10 (which I thought he was today) is unusual.

He does things that are 11 out of 10, irrespective of his performance.

Don't know if everyone's already seen this video from Redbull, but apparently he's been working with a sports vision specialist from America. I hadn't seen it before today, when it came up during a discussion about how good his vision is.

Pretty interesting, a bit long but if you've some time to waste, quite a bit there from Trent about how he's working on developing vision, ability to visually track different targets, etc.

Totally agree - there were parts he was just not quite his brightest, but st the same time he was fabulous.
