Second to Van Dijk, Gomez might be our player of the season.

That said, I’m not having him over Robertson at LB in a must win game at Anfield. I’m just not.

A genuine question - Do you seriously think he's a better defender than Gomez?

You well know that 85% of your negs come from me, when you’re talking shit about Robertson.

I'm not really one for negs, but what I can take from your response is that you believe Robertson is a better defender than Gomez.  Fair enough.

I do.

I think he’s a great defensive fullback and he think is irreplaceable both on the overlap and deadball crossing.

I think his number of assists speak conclusively to the latter point.

Anyone got the goods on Mr Robertson? Do you think we will get a full season out of him?
I know he’s back in training now but I feel like he’s been injured for aaaages

am a bit concerned about our LB depth for the season if he’s not up to it

It didn’t help that he played in th Euros with an injury and obviously made it worse.

With his industry and energy being such a big part of what he brings to the table, been a little worried we could see a big drop off as the games pile up and he enters his 30s.

Not seen too many signs of that and I’m bloody relieved.

Robertson is my kind of Liverpool player.

The signs are there unfortunately. Things that used to be easy for him appear to take all of his effort now.

He’s not going to be the player he was, as his athleticism declines, but he’s still well worth his place in the team.

The problem arises when he wants another £100k contract extension and isn’t worth that to us

He’s a top player and been a brilliant signing. I do think that signs are appearing that he has seen his best days. Next year or so and we’ll need a new left back.
Kerkez is definitely worth a look. 20 years old. Got over a season PL experience under his belt and a full international.
Always looked good when I’ve seen him and I’d be amazed if he isn’t on the clubs radar.
