Can’t say I’m that arsed or surprised. I’m far more pissed off that fuck all has been said about the blatant shithouse dive by Jesus right in-front of the linesman that the meatball molly wannabe cunt gave as a free kick.

Commentary at the end of this clip….. ‘delivered with force from Robertson……..straight into the midriff of the linesman’. Very shortly afterwards, the Jesus dive which the lineman flagged (2nd clip). Followed shortly after that, the aggressive and petulant elbow. Are these connected? Make your own minds up

Robbo shouldn't have given him that outlet. He should just have done nothing. So should the club.

Did the club actually do anything? From what I’ve seen the club has said and done nothing, apart from Klopp, bafflingly, praising the FA’s handling of it. Meanwhile , Robertson is the subject of rampant victim shaming. The world has gone fucking mad. If an official had chinned Bruno Fernandes last month (or anytime since he’s been in this country) that would be entirely understandable.

A refs' charity has announced: "We believe a match official isn’t far away from getting killed on the field of play. I also don’t think we’re far away from a match official having enough and turning round and smacking someone.”

First sentence: yes, well, sit down and have a tablet, hun.

Second sentence: I think you'll find that's what's just been condoned, so you're all right there.

The first sentence is very close to spot on,and has almost happened once or twice. The problem is that people cannot seperate this 'forced hype' in professional football from the real stuff at grassroots. You may think it's laughable as a supporter but try officiating park or kids grassroot football and you'll soon form a different opinion. I am able to separate this melodrama from reality but unfortunately many, many people aren't.

As somebody who reffed in the Wavertree Junior Alliance way back I would agree that it’s in that area where there are real problems. It wasn’t that bad back then but  I feel there’s far more toxicity around now. County FA’s don’t come down hard enough on clubs with problem spectators.  At pro level though its a bit of a hysterical statement.

Here's that boggled eyed twat Garth Crooks take on the elbow incident:

The Crooks of the Matter

It would seem the controversy surrounding the encounter between Liverpool and Arsenal that finished 2-2 has finally been brought to an end. The incident involving the assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Andy Robertson was resolved after a Football Association inquiry found the assistant referee had no case to answer.

And I should think so.

The incredulity on Robertson's face having received the reflex reaction from the referee's assistant. The defender had after all come at such a pace to confront the official, it was perfectly natural for the startled Hatzidakis to raise his elbow as a defensive mechanism. The way Robertson then turned to his team-mates in astonishment to complain that he had just been 'deliberately' elbowed was bordering on pathetic. The international defender should have known better. Had he tried that stunt in his native Scotland, in a match of no significance with an ordinary member of the public running the line, he would almost certainly have been levelled. Robertson knew exactly what he was doing and who he was doing it to. This was bullying of the worst kind and it has to stop.

Players confronting officials should have been outlawed years ago, and they only have themselves to blame. Referees' failure to use their cards in their defence has only served to make matters worse. Of course officials shouldn't raise their arms against a player and wouldn't in normal circumstances, but this was not a normal circumstance. This issue should have been about Robertson, who had no business intimidating the assistant referee in the first place.

Robertson should stick one on the fat Spurs gobshite!

What footage there is of the incident shows pretty much the exact opposite of what the media are saying happened. The public's capacity to swallow bullshit is just one reason why society is where it is.

Yes , perhaps someone can show a clip of Robbo tear arsing up and grabbing him from behind to support the medias take on it. The faux outrage is laughable.

The first sentence has happened worldwide numerous times.

So long as it's just a sentence, that's believable.

What isn't plausible is the idea that the chaos at grass roots level has been 'caused' or even influenced by high profile incidents at the top level. The grass roots problems are more likely caused by grass roots problems. If one was to claim that professionals in the PL crowding around the refs 'causes' idiots on parks running onto the pitch assualting officials or players shoving them you may as well say that the PL influences pub brawls or kids in inner city schools hitting teachers. It makes for good headlines but it's an irresponsible and cowardly response to far-reaching social issues that no one seems arsed about dealing with practically.

Absolutely they are linked. Football has always, moreso now, been influential towards every other level from the top down. The cowardice shown by the authorities to allow mass murderers to run football and treat every single incident like a national newsflash is another though.

That clearly shows Robertson running at pace to confront the linesman and in turn it also shows just how quickly the linesman had to react to defend himself.

utter condemnation is justified.

where was the confrontation bit again?

Ah but I am looking for the one the media yes men are talking about . You know he ran 40 yards and approached him from behind hence the reaction from the lino.  Yeah we all know it doesn’t exist and yet not one journo , as far as I know, hasn’t called it out.
