Robbos partnership with Mane on the left was brilliant and was building another with Diaz. He doesn't seem to have done as well with Nunez though.

I think Mane was one of those players who would have made any left back he played with look brilliant, purely because of the example he set in attack and defence.  He really was the monster in our team, and it's a painful realisation that we're going through that his contribution was massively underestimated.

I don't think it had anything to do with him being underestimated but more to do with economics and team spirit. His titty lip after AFCON was spoiling the spirit Klopp thrives on and he was asking for financial parity with Salah which FSG didnt believe he was worth. That said the only reason they've paid Salah more stupid money is because they didnt want to lose both Mane and Salah together. He also doesnt sulk when upset like Mane did. Of course it doesnt mean we dont miss him but he wasnt going to stay under FSG's pay scale.

Salah this season has been the smiling underperformer.

I still think we should have let Salah go and kept Sadio.

We should have called his agent's bluff regarding his pay but I reckon they had already decided Mane was going so couldn't. If that AFCON final had gone differently who knows how things would have turned out. Mane's public face certainly changed after it,that's for sure.

I totally disagree re Steve Nicol,he had everything. He was primarily a good defender but could score goals and had pace. Alongside being two footed and able to play in almost every position on the pitch. He was the best player but I admit that there is an argument over who fits in the best in their team.

I actually hesitated when mentioning Nicol. He was certainly a great player, possibly our best right-back in that time, but I alwas thought he was filling in as a left-back and it wasn't his best position.

Other than Mane had told Klopp he was leaving months before it and that after AFCON it was actually Mane who played quite well and not Salah, no.

I'm sure Mane's mind was made up a long time before he left.

Think I remember hearing something about Klopp having a bit of a gentlemans agreement with the players. Where he wouldn't ever try to bomb them out of the club without warning as long as the players agreed to give him a fair amount of notice if they ever wanted to move.

I reckon Robertson like many of our players was really overrated by many when we were good. He was good, and a vital part in a well functioning unit, but probably never anywhere near best left back in the world as many were saying.

Now the team is shit, and his weaknesses are much easier to see. Mainly that he gets dragged out of position too often and his lack of overview and composure on the ball.

That said he’s one if the few that looks like he still actually wants to win a football match. That’s prepared to run, fight, tackle and challenge for 90+ minutes. He looks as hungry as ever, and he looks like he knows what it means to wear the Liverpool shirt. Love him for that, even if it’s nothing more than you should expect.

The contrast in attitude between him and Trent is painfully stark. One gets his head down and does his best for the team, the other waddles around with his stupid half-sized shin pads ('Look at me - I'm an ARTISTE!') whilst scowling at his teammates and shaking his head at the bench. Robbo needs to improve but he's got the right temperament.

Repped. Trent's attitude yesterday really fucking pissed me off.

And the Lino has been cleared of any charge

FA to take no further action after reviewing all of the evidence in relation to the incident at Anfield involving the Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson and match official Constantine Hatzidakis.

Constantine Hatzidakis: “I have discussed the matter directly with Andy Robertson during an open and positive conversation. It was not my intention to make any contact with Andy as I pulled my arm away from him and for that I have apologised."

“ Hello, Howard Webb here, listen, we’re not going to charge Constantine with anything, he’ll say sorry to Robertson and that will be that, ok? If you want to contest this then fine, but don’t expect to get a decision between now and the end of the season. Or ever. Cheers.”
