Further to reports in Bild and Kicker: Leipzig would consider allowing Keita to leave in Jan should a fee be agreed up on that suits both #RBL & #LFC. Leipzig are holding out for the highest possible return. Crucially Keita has now expressed a desire to leave during this window.

Such is the acceleration of transfer fees since we agreed the fee for Keita, around £65m, that we got him about £20m cheaper than he’d cost now.

 

So in some ways the additional £10-20m to bring the deal forward would not be gratuitous.

 

The other options would be spend £10m on a 6 month loan for someone like Andre Gomes.

It’s very difficult to work out what player Coutinho was, in Klopp’s opinion.

 

Are we missing a central midfielder or are we missing an attacker? All depends on Klopp’s interpretation of events.

 

He might have no intention of replacing Coutinho with another Coutinho-esque player.

 

Find that hard to believe though because he once was asked who the best player in the PL wax and he said it was David Silva. Suggests to me he’s very fond of a midfield maestro.
