We surely have something big lined up. Even by FSG standards we couldn't be committing self sabotage like this.

Yep.

Too much at stake to do this now. We've got a player on lock, and it's Lemar, hence we haven't let them use him this week. We're just sorting outgoings before bringing him in.

Their VP was vocal yesterday about not selling Lemar. But go back to his interview earlier last year and he says:

https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2017/vadim-vasilyev-everyone-knows-our-philosophy-were-a-selling-club/

There is no shame in selling a player for €180m…

No, there is no shame in saying that certain offers just cannot be turned down. Everyone knows our philosophy: we are a selling club.

What he was saying yesterday was that Lemar would not be sold on the cheap. IF we meet the £90m, or thereabouts, then they will sell him.

They also have an issue this summer in as much as they're already selling MBappe for £163m. To sell Lemar at the same time for £90m might rancour with the fans, however many of them there are, but it might also signal another exodus.

They just sold Carillo to Southampton 4 days ago, they had no need to make money, I just think it's open season on them.

WOLFSBURG WANT MARKOVIC

Wolfsburg are trying to persuade Liverpool midfielder Lazar Markovic to kick-start his career with them.

Liverpool are happy for him to join the Bundesliga club on a permanent deal before the transfer window closes.

There had been interest from Swansea but it now appears that Wolfsburg is the main option left open to him to secure a move away from Anfield, with the Swans not confident of signing the Serbia international.

They saw that youtube keepy uppy video where he managed 6, so I'm not surprised they're clambering over themselves to get his signature.

Would be a mad signing for City, spending £40m to cover Sane’s month out.

Well they did want Sanchez to pad out the squad so it's not that mad. Anyone who uses this as an excuse for us not being able to compete need look at how much Mahrez cost Leicester though. We can't only want assured quality whilst not wanting to pay big fees all the time. If we're not paying big money for Lamar this window we need to at least take a punt on a diamond in the rough. It's not like transfer fees are depreciating.
