Naby Keita

He's a big bag of wank. Never mind dealing dodgy documents to get a Deutschlander driving licence, he should be fined for his forays on to the football field. Fuckoff.

There's nothing wrong with Keita, he plays exactly as Klopp wants him to play. If he was as bad as the last few pages suggest he wouldn't be in the team. Bizarre scenes.

He was much improved after the lockdown - getting stuck in in the defensive third and expressing himself more.

He was great in that Chelsea game last season. Won the ball high and then lashed one in the top corner.

My Dad watched quite a lot of the Bundesliga and said he did stuff like that every few weeks. But thats the first time in 2 years we've seen that.

If Jones carries on his trajectory, I'd be happy to let Keita leave next summer. Make him part of any Mbappe / Haaland / Sancho deal.

He has qualities that Klopp appreciates but I don't think it's possible to say he's been anything but a disappointment. Not a lost cause, though.

I prefer Keita to Chamberlain but not many wanted AOC to sign, so nobody expected anything other than what he has delivered, which is the odd screamer and inconsistency.

Keita was billed as an all action midfielder that would take the league by storm, our new 'Gerrard' but he's delivered very little apart from glimpses, he's yet to put it together and I don't think he ever will. I could forgive his poor positioning, losing the ball in dangerous areas and generally poor defensive play if he was contributing in attack but he's invisible most of the time. I judge him different to our water carriers as he's meant to be the guy to unlock defenses. He needs to do much more, which means more goals, assists and successful dribbles to create opportunities for himself and others.

I don't think he's a bad player but he's just meh and couldn't care less if we sold him.

Fair enough. As you know things can just turn. It has happened.

Hopefully it does mate. He could be a massive asset, just can't put it all together for some reason like he did in Germany

I watched the Bundesliga and championed him as much as anyone, hope he comes good I really do.

I think he's worth persevering with. Especially as Milner will probably go next summer and AOC should.

And Wijnaldum will by all accounts.   Which is fucking ridiculous.

He was excellent tonight, and definitely hasn't been for a while. He's a bit hit and miss, but the way Arsenal set up suits him perfectly.

I've always liked him in European ties.

Me neither, thought he was bang average again....

He doesn’t do enough for me, it’s almost like your waiting for the shackles to come off and him burst into this monster midfielder everyone seen when he was at RB Leipzig, I really like him and want him to succeed but I’m not sure he will, I wouldn’t be surprised if we signed Upemecano in the summer and offered Keita in exchange.

Not a massive amount of love for Naby on here. I thought he was great tonight and has been for a while now.

Yup he was excellent. Movement of him/Salah/Mane was phenomenal. Don't understand how he's so incapable of chipping in with goals and assists though as our most further forward midfielder. That's what is missing from his game.

I think we are just going to have to accept that the all action box to box player we saw in Germany isnt the player we have. If thats the tactics and him playing to how Klopp wants or he just can't do that here who knows

We saw a bit of that in the first half I thought. He had a solid game, but enough to displace Gini or Hendo? You’ve gotta say no, so far.

Agree he looks ok, but for the outlay, hype and what we saw in Germany you expected him to take the game by the scruff of the neck, score goals, get stuck in etc. To be the man in midfield, maybe not at Gerrard's level but that same same all action midfielder and not just another cog in a midfield machine
