You were a regular at Coutinho's house? Did he slouch? As this could have caused his back problems.

Yeah. We kept feeding Moreno all the Corona.

Is that a giant fuck off Badminton set there??

I hope so, or else we’ve bought an absolutely tiny footballer.

Played against Nigeria. Looked about 25% fit and pulled his groin and went down about 4 times before he was finally taken off. So good stuff, in short.

Once it's not bad and he's back in time for preseason then it could be a blessing. I hate using Ferguson for an example of anything but not in a million years would one his players been allowed to participate in this. Klopp has fuck all flaws but not regularly telling international association's to go fuck themselves is one of them.

Was gonna say as much - really the only steady player in thoes 11's of the md to late 90s was Schmeichel - dont remember him bowing out of alot of international duty.

Cantona was always on the outside looking in at France. Yorke had already quit Trinidad - then did players like Stam or Van Nistlerooy bail on internationals??

It was mostly a load of English, a few Irish fellas and Ole at the wheel

African fas aren't ones to fuck with.   Bit harder than convincing Ryan Giggs its pointless to play qualifiers for Wales.

African FA's are also generally skint. The English FA had to pay Newcastle £10m for an injury to Michael Owen in the 2006 world cup. I doubt Guinea have that kind of cash or even adequate insurance to pay Naby's wages for a few months. If they can't afford it then they should'nt be taking him if advised he was injured.

I agree but those cunts at FIFA allow countries to dictate rather than vice versa. We should be bigger cunts ourselves regarding these things though.

So, Naby's groin has gone again and will take no further part in ACON. Well, who didnt see this coming? It really, really pisses me off that international football has goosed one of our players again.

What makes it more annoying is everyone knew Naby wasnt ready to play but, a combination of an international football manager who couldnt give a fuck and the player himself who wouldnt rule himself out, has lead to this.

We used to call ferguson for preventing Giggs playing for Wales with his dodgey hamstrings but let's be honest, he had the right idea. Thanks to FIFA and UEFA, neither managers nor clubs can do what he used to do but it still absolutely baffles me why the European Club Association or whatever they call themselves these days, arent doing more to stop their players having to turn up for internationals when injured or recovering from injury.

Maybe this should be in the shitness of modern football thread?

Cant we sue them and fire a shot across the bows of national federations regarding their treatment of injured players.

Could well be one of those seasons where we start with a hobble and a limp due to international football, with our players returning knackered.

If only there was a transfer window to make sure we had a squad capable.

Ginsoak's cunning plan always gets dredged back up, but the truth is FIFA changed the rules to stop managers like him simply saying a player can't join up with his national team. If a player is now called up he has to go, and if a club say he's injured it's down to the national team's medical staff to assess his condition and either agree with or overrule the club.

Ha, what a brilliant bit of policy. Can't see any issues with that, at all.
