Anybody reckon it's an attitude thing?

Based on his disciplinary form at leipzig it's easy to imagine that he doesn't have the best temperament, and it's also obvious that Klopp demands that players put in a lot of effort in training to get noticed, he's not one to carry passengers.

In my mind he's shown up having not made any attempts to learn the language, and has been putting similar efforts into his training, Klopp wasnt happy, and Keita has done nothing to remedy the situation since then either.

He's like an introverted Balotelli.

Not bothering his hole to learn the language wouldn't help either.

Maybe the lad is trying, but can't grasp the language, but contrast him to Alisson, who in a recent interview was saying how he has English lessons every day.

Is keita really trying as hard as him?

No doubting the guys talents, and I have to admit I really thought he was going to be the new Gerard, or close enough anyway. But he's just been bang average.

Alisson will have spoken English before coming here though.

But, yeah, he has to fucking learn the language. Fuck living anywhere you can't speak the language.

It's not that good tbf, outside of Bayern there's only Dortmund who would have any hope of challenging the top six in England and they'd probably finish 7th.

Obviously that's due to financial reasons but it is what it is.

We have a huge drop off beyond our top six though.

I reckon the 12th and 15th (for example) best teams in England aren't much different to those in Germany.

Frankfurt knocked Inter out of the Europa League. They're fifth, and I'd fancy them to beat everyone outside our top six.

The league has depth. It's not like Portugal or Holland where beyond the top three or four you've basically got teams that would struggle in League One.

On his way next season I reckon, he may well be a good player, I’ve no idea to be honest,  but he’s done absolutely  nothing here and it just hasn’t worked out, always looks to me like he just doesn’t want to be here.

How is it that a player is bad for one season and that all of a sudden means we'll quit on him and get him out? Ridiculous shout.

He hasn’t even been THAT bad. Just not remotely close to what we expected. Which was someone to come in and tear the league to shreds.

I think it’s fair to expect some players will take a little longer than others to adapt. Not the end of the world.

Even a 19-year-old Anthony Le Tallec and Salif Diao both summoned at least 1 solitary goal in their first Liverpool seasons (against the mighty NK Olimpija Ljubljana and Spartak Moscow respectively) .. Keita is entering dangerous territory ..

He’s good enough technically he’s just absolutely shocking tactically.  It might just be that he’s never been required to do the specific things he’s being asked to do here.  I find when I watch him he’s too safe in attacking situations and too braindead/risky in defensive situations.  The self blindfolding and snooty dismissive opinions when he was shocking early on in the season are comical looking back now.

I don’t think it’s the level of German football being so poor I think it’s more the style/culture there and here.  It is obviously levels below here but I think you don’t get the absolute win at all costs Dyche/Allardyce/Mourinho style managers who are happy to concede 80% possession on the hope they soak up pressure and shithouse a mistake or bad refereeing decision.

He’s not going anywhere anyway.  We wouldn’t get half the fee we paid and what would be the point anyway.  He might still come good.  Plenty of great players have taken time to adapt.  Klopp will back his own ability to get the best out of players.  A player with such obvious technical ability won’t be cast aside so quickly.  Personally I reckon he’s been overloaded with information and he’s like a deer in headlights.  He’s overthinking everything, even when he’s playing those easy 5 yard passes it feels like he just wants some successive passes.
