Reminiscent of City's signing of Milner. I think this will prove to be a very smart signing. Ridiculously quick, as people have already alluded to his versatility. Ironically like Milner, his versatility has probably hindered his development.

Surely it's far more reminiscent of OUR signing of Milner?

A utility player who has been unable to nail down a preferred position at a rival team and is turning down a big contract from them to come here.

People are actually having the temerity to ask why it doesn't make sense.

- He's made of biscuits

- He's scored 9 league goals in 6 seasons, nearly all of it as an attacker in probably the most offensively minded team in the league during that period.

- He'll cost £30 million plus to get him this window when he'll be free next year.

- His wages will be £100,000 plus a week.

- It's a lot of money we can put towards a demonstrably better player.

That's just the objective facts alone.

Willian hardly scores any goals but he's a cracking player that offers width to any system. Same can be said of Firmino. As for the fee, we need him now and we need homegrown players as this is probably Milner's last season.

The only point I'll concede is injury proneness.

Deal makes sense if you rate the player, doesn't make sense if you don't.

Yes, you either trust the judgement of the best managers in world football, or you don't.

Some people have had enough of experts, quite clearly.

Looks like the invites only went to those who think they know more than they actually do.

Wherever he ends up, AOC is going to make those people look very silly.

or perhaps, it's just for people who can tell a transfer thread from an invitation for sociological critique.  Who knows?

Unlucky, on the invite BTW

You never know how well a new player will work with the existing squad. For instance in the midfield 3 we have very little pace. Putting him in there may open everything up for Henderson to thrive, who knows, but we do need some explosive pace in the midfield 3.

While our forwards move like the proverbial off a shovel, Klopp has correctly identified the lack of pace breaking from the midfield as a weakness in the team.

Naby Keita will go some way to addressing that issue, but he doesn't arrive until next year.

Quick, skilful midfielders don't grow on trees.

I assume you've never spoken out against a transfer then, SD? None of the Kenny ones, not Carroll or Downing? What about Rafa's signings? Backed all of those?

Did you just compare AOC to Willian??

That's awful. Had the monkey promised you a shag?

I just paid the entrance fee.

I'm not sure what happened but it all went blue.

Confirmed by his management team, also by Melissa Reddy. 35m.Fucking ridiculous deal.

Only if its instead of Lemar. Get them both and im happy enough. Means we can rest Mane and Salah at the same time if needed.

Same agent as the one Sterling had? Surely that should be enough to put us off, before we get into his goal scoring record, injuries etc. Bizarre signing.
