Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Very good player, some fitness issues, but overblown I think.  Any more than £25m feels like too much, but at 23 any less could turn out to be a bargain, relatively speaking.  Van Dijk for £60-70m is a much bigger risk.

He'll get off to a flyer by Crimbo he'd be more use be in Lewis's grotto.

There's a number of considerations to be made in the signing of Chamberlain (or any player) that are rarely considered.

PL 25 man squad and home grown rules - we can register 25 players for the season of which 8 have to be considered 'home grown*', players under the age of 21 on the 1st of January can be registered outside of that 25.

Last summer we registered 22 players 7 of which were homegrown (Clyne, Henderson, Ings, Lallana, Milner, Stewart, Sturridge), that leaves us three spots to fill with 1 needing to be homegrown, if Stewart leaves that means we have 2 spots that have to go to homegrown players.

If the plan is to increase the depth of the squad then using those spots on young players, that we don't have to register, seems counter productive and, if our main targets are exclusively players from abroad, then the squad needs to be padded with good homegrown players.

Chamberlain at the right prices would fit that criteria, Solanke/Gomez don't have to be registered and the 8th spot could be taken by Danny Ward if he stays (or maybe a LB?)

Brexit - Nobody knows what the footballing landscape will be post Brexit so if you can buy a talented English player at 23 years of age for relative peanuts in the anticipation of more stringent quota rules then it makes sense to do so before the value rockets.

On the pitch he can play in multiple positions and gives Klopp plenty of options with  Milner and Lallana also in that category.

I don't think there's a massive list of players that fit the criteria for us this summer

* a home grown player is any player who has been at a club in England/UK for three whole seasons or 36 months before there 21st birthday.

Don't know enough about him to comment on what he can bring to us, so I'm in the trusting in Klopp's opinion on players, group.

Talking of groups, I've heard his bird is in a crap girls band and she's the looker. Not that, that has any bearing what so ever on how good he'll be for us. He may just have a massive cock.

He's 23 he's not set the football world alight, made his debut as a kid 17 or 18 had 5/6 years in the Prem, mostly injured or a sub in a bang average Arsenal side,he's an average winger/midfielder now all of a sudden where going to turn him into Paoula Maldini and pay £25Mfor the pleasure, spend the money and a lot more in defence on a proper LB and CB.

That's a self imposed restriction though, at no point has it been suggested that the signing of Chamberlain would be at the expense of another position, instead it's been suggested as a supplementary signing, 25 million this season is a lot less than what it was when we signed Lallana.

The easy way to reconcile it, unless you know of a better English player we could sign for the same amount, is would you rather a squad with him and Alexander Arnold/Ejaria or a squad with just Alexander Arnold and Ejaria because that's what not signing him could mean.

Also - He's 23, and would be managed by Klopp.
