Mag 254

Recommended Posts

The good thing about the zgemma box ( which i use ) is the freeview stuff is always there along with the record function , my internet isnt great and so my iptv experience has been a bit hit and miss to date .

Without knowing whether or not my bband is to blame or my provider is the source of much annoyance , my internet provider however is a small firm on the iom and so have offered me a free trial with a faster service when the footy season starts again , so i can make a decision then if things improve

I've found iptv to run best thru an e2 sat receiver, ran iptv through my minix android box and the interface and navigation is much better IMO on the e2, and zaps much quicker than the Android box. I've only seen it on someone else's mag, but not liking the interface. If you have an e2 receiver, would recommend it. The Iptv channels are zapped through your 'bouquet' list. Some people complain about the lack or shitness of the EPG, but if you only use it for the footy, you know which channel your going to anyway it's no big problem. Just have "Liveonsat" as your EPG! If you use it to replace your full sky setup though, prob best going for the mag, as the EPG is supposed to be far superior.

It's decent, that's for sure.

Lots of ways you can get it and lots of ways to watch like through Android Apps (Firestick, Smart TV, Tablet) or through one of these boxes mentioned (Mag or Zgemma). You pay your subscription for 1/3/6/12 months and the provider will either send you a config file or a link with username and password, which you install onto your device through SSH (Filezilla, Putty etc..).

Problems are download limits on your broadband, and broadband speed needing to be decent. Also, some ISP's (like Sky, for example) have a 'blocker' on their routers. It's not hard to turn them off, but it's important to know.

Some providers will offer an EPG and some won't. Again, I think it's something you have to look into and it's how important that is to you. In short, you can basically get any channel in the world and there's a good VOD service too.

I mainly use IPTV now instead of Kodi. It's much easier to access and has all of the channels I and the kids use. Mine is set up on my LG TV.

Also purchased a vpn router to hide my traffic as I'm on sky

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. What VPN service do you use?

Any channel sounds fucking awesome. I'm deffo interested. Looks like I can do it directly from my tsv with minimal set up I just need the source. Where would I get that from?

This group on Facebook can help. I would endorse the idea of having an EPG so that might mean buying a box because as far as I can make out, apps for smart TV's etc don't support it. I could be wrong though. You may find yourself scrolling through (literally) thousands of channel names to get to what you want. Again, I could be wrong and I'm sure one of our esteemed Techy Nerds can put me right there.

EBay pal it came yesterday working fine

At that price I'd be surprised if your subscription lasts 12 months. I've got a 254 and it's boss. Much better than Openboxes were.

A VPN would cover it for users, but they're really going after the sellers aren't they?

I've got a zgemma with no issues. Could well be over subscribed. Bulky IPTV is still down I think, so if that's what you're using you're pretty shafted.

Yeah been reading tonight and a VPN looks the way forward. That will stop a lot of casuals, and so Sky won't go after the minority. Could be a good thing.
