Just seen one going on about our fans attacking Alan Smith's ambulance after he was injured in the FA Cup game in 2005.

Even though he came out years ago saying it never happened.

Come on, mate. Don't take that away from them. That and PEDs is what gets them through the night. They went out to hurt our players. It's as simple as that.

Well firstly who said it's full medical opinion? in fact they said Liverpool are awaiting confirmation. I think it would be pretty normal if a mate text and said "what's happening" you might just reply and say "just had a scan, it looks like an ACL". You're assuming vvd was sneaking some scan report and sending photos of them to de Jong, it could have been half a dozen words. It's just 2 lads texting with each other. I would even bet the way it happened is de Jong took the text during the 1st half of the city game and wasn't expecting keys to "break the story".

You can bet whatever you want. I’ll wait for the proper assessment and I think the Bein stuff is speculation, and nothing more.

The problem with "sign another CB " is that that player would either be a promising young player, like White or whoever, who probably would have cost a fortune and/or not been really reliable anyway or meant we couldn't sign Jota, or a "backup" like Lovren/Klavan type player. I'd take my chances with Fabinho playing there.

We sold Hoever, who looked half decent and might have allowed a bit more flexibility across the back line given he plays as a full back too. As for the GK situation and as others have said,Adrian should have gone after the Atletico fiasco. I can't believe there isn't better cover than him.

Agree with that Bobby.

Nothing confirmed yet. It isn't good we know but nothing confirmed. The latest is the club aren't impressed with Bein and have contacted them.

While the club are busy contacting people, they should also get on top of these PED tweets. A couple of the big Everton twitter accounts have needle emojis, now these cunts are probably raking it in, let them spent 100k defending themselves in court.

Klopp preferred Williams to Hoever for right back. That's good enough for me. Milner can play there as well. I can't really comment with any great authority on what Hoever could do at CB but he'd be our fifth choice there at best if he was still here, so I honestly don't see how he's relevant.

I’m seeing a lot of whataboutery from the scummy bastards around Robertson on Allan. They don’t understand the difference between a flick out in frustration and an actual assault.

Mina’s also lucky to get away with leading with his arm in the lead up to the Richarlison one.

Robertson was pushed by one of their players and off balance and so completely different scenario - social media around VVD injury has been deeply depressing and a reflection of everything that is bad in society where people think posting v unpleasant comments and attitudes is either funny or a badge of honour

I’m even more angry this morning. On sky just now they have a sort of mini supplement looking at the papers and it seems everyone thinks Pickford should have been sent off and Henderson’s goal should have stood!
So it’s not just us being biased. It makes me mad how Pickford got away with that.

I wasn't worried about the covid pandemic when I was lying awake last night I was worried about virg's knee.

And Thiago's.

They're like Leeds in the 70's when they play us. Filthy, dirty bastards. If they're not trying to push someone running at speed into the crowd and then claiming racist abuse to deflect, it's trying to break someone's leg or snap them in half.

And Ancelotti can fuck off as well after calling the game "Satisfying".

He's gone right down in my estimation if he condones that level of shithousery.

Thing is, even Stevie Wonder could see the officials got both those decisions wrong. You just have to wonder at the standard of the officials in the PL. Yet again united were given another penalty.

There's no ferguson tp berate refs any more and there's no way united 'get in the box more' than other teams. Mo get's fuck all when dragged around the box by oppo defenders. The same defenders only need look at fernandes and he goes down. There's clear pictures of him fouling himself for the pen they gave against Villa yet they still get these pens.

The old girl used to think I was just a biased old git going on about cheating refs but even she has come round to the view that generally we're on the end of shit decisions.

I cant see him walking off if his ACL was damaged that badly. Doesnt mean he won't be out for a while but I'd be surprised if it was the extreme amount of time we've heard so far. We will cope regardless. We constantly talk about how many world class players we have most teams don't even have one so are we saying klopp isn't a good enough manager to deal with that. Klopp elevates players and teams he isnt a Pep type manager. VVD or not we still have an excellent group of players.

Ripped mine completely and was able to walk . Next morning different senario bloody agony. Surprising what a Jag of adrenaline can cover up. You can hear it tearing bit like separating velcro my concern is he kinda knew he couldnt carry on I suspect he heard or felt something. Hope to fuck I am wrong .

The guys on the line would have been viewing it on the laptop's, just the pictures alone may have made the decision for them regardless of Virgil's or the physios input.  Hopefully they relayed it to the guys on the pitch and this is just a precautionary 2 or 3 week job.

Proper ACL rupture, like Ox or like Owen in the World Cuo, you’re not walking off like Virgil did. It looks like knee ligaments but the hope is it’s not that nature of injury.

This is exactly what I said to my mate. Sounds like it’s a bad one and he will be out for a while but you don’t walk off on your own if it’s that.

So I think there's 2 points. Firstly, what I would do, I've said earlier on this thread. I thought it was a problem before this season and a year ago I would have sold any 2 of the centre backs who were not vvd and brought in an top centre back with a good injury record. I'm not against going with 3 if you think 2 of them will be fit nearly every week. However, it really isn't a revolutionary idea to have 4 specialist centre backs. In fact I think at times under klopp we had 5.

Secondly you're assuming people wanted a 4th choice centre back to replace vvd, when we saw last season we needed lovren plenty of times and VVD played every week. The 4th choice would be someone who fills in when Gomez and matip aren't available normally because they aren't plenty of times - well unless you you pull off a thiago style deal and have someone who'll play ahead of them. Now vvd is injured, that issue becomes even bigger, because it's absolutely certain matip and Gomez will be injured at the same time, because they have been every single year since they've been at the club, because they're both injury prone. So when you're at that point, you're down to a centre midfielder and who? Billy the kid? Henderson? Gini? Come on.

And that's before you consider as far as we know none of matip/Gomez/fabinho have had covid yet. And we're playing 2 games a week pretty much all season.

It's pretty standard in this level of football to have 4 centre backs. Carrying just 3 would be a risk for any side. Carrying 3 when 2 of them are complete fitness flakes surely you can see we carried a risk even without VVD's injury.

Ok, fine. But that was never going to happen. Like I said, not selling one of those might have been a mistake, but the club and Klopp back them both. We toss aside deadwood, not talented players on long term deals who have contributed to trophies.

I'm not assuming anything. There's loads of people who, for some reason, are bringing up how not signing a 4th choice was a lack of planning right after van Dijk got injured. If we lose van Dijk, the season is probably over anyway. People have fallen over themselves to say some of our depth hasn't really been depth over the years because they think they're shite, but now buying a 4th choice CB, would have fixed everything, including replacing one of the best defenders in the world, if he went down. Dumb take.

Fabinho is a fine 4th choice and the club replaced him in midfield on those occasions with a world class midfielder. Maybe the club should have foreseen that Everton would butcher both our best defender and best midfielder at the same time, and I'm sure some would say that, but I won't say that.

Kept thinking of Jim Beglin this morning. Younger posters might see him as a slightly irritating pundit but he was a brilliant young defender butchered by an Everton player. At least then, there was a lot of sympathy for him in an era when they really were our rivals on the pitch.

Now, you just know that a large number of them are loving Pickford and Richarlison.

At the risk of being a doom-monger, Lucas actually played on after doing his ACL at Chelsea. He'd been sensationally good up to then, never quite the same again. I really, really hope it's not too bad, but right now, 24 hours on, I'm still fucking seething with rage.

I absolutely detest everything to do with that fucking club. The fans, the players, the people who run it.

I absolutely love the fake outrage from their fans when someone does something to them like piant on their pisshead lock up tower.

They set out to deliberately injured our players and their scum fans celebrate it.

Everton fans are the type of people that grass you up to the corona police for visiting a relative.

Absolute scum and total vermin of this great city.

Fuck them and everyone associated with them.

There's been some bad ones from both sides over the years to be fair, Steve McMahon on John Ebbrell where he injured himself was one and Jimmy Case on Geoff Nulty was another, but that one really was a shocker.

Still cringe now when I think of that one.
