Agree with all of that. I think I'd keep Bairstow out of the two.

Yeah, Bairstow looks a far better test batsman than Buttler. Give Foakes the gloves and let Bairstow concentrate on his batting. Sibley given a chance at opening, need a competent number 3 though, maybes try Stokes there. He's capable of sticking around as well as being productive Who could replace Root as Captain though, should he be removed from that role, Broad, Stokes?

I know fuck all about Sibley, but as long as he's actually proven himself in the Championship I'd happily see him given a go.

 

I like Woakes, I'd be playing him pretty much every game. And Anderson will probably retire fairly soon.

 

Not sure about Leach, we haven't seen pitches or situations that dictate him bowling a lot.

 

Agree with your general line up. We desperately need an opener and a number three.

I’ve heard Buttler mentioned before but not for me as at the moment he doesn’t merit a place. Doubt Stokes would get it after his shenanigans but he definetly leads by example. Any budding captains on the fringes?

The one day mindset has truly surfaced today. Roy and Stokes proving it. They see width and can't help themselves. Early on in Test Cricket you need to build your innings until your timing and reading of the pitch is good. If it ain't hitting your pads or stumps by some distance then just fucking leave it early on. It isn't rocket science.

The new captain can't come from this lot. There isn't a single one of them with the intelligence and right mentality to do it.

Give Denly credit, he has a far better technique than most of our players. He knows when to leave the ball and digs in. He just needs to concentrate for a whole innings, it seems once he gets above 20 he relaxes too much.
