20 years ago all the subcontinental sides were shit at the basics.

 

Couldn't run between the wickets, couldn't catch, shit ground fielding, didn't back up, didn't rotate the strike to keep the runs ticking, etc, etc.

 

Sri Lanka were probably the first to sort it out to some degree, if only briefly. Then India did it properly. Bangladesh have improved a lot in the last few years. Pakistan are still largely an absolute joke at this sort of stuff. Only ever competing because they have incredible quicks or spinners. 

 

The whole squad should fuck the IPL off and spend a season or two playing in New Zealand and learn how to not be a complete imbecile on the pitch.
