Very modest total from S/L. 232/9 on this pitch is about 45 runs short of a par score. Good bowling from England. They all had decent averages apart from Root who only bowled two overs and even his wasn't an expensive average. England should piss this run chase.

Bairstow out from the second ball, 1/1. Shit umpire call IMO but the review meant it stood with the umpire, it was only just clipping off stump. Gives Root a chance to get a 100.....

Good of us to make a game of it!

Morgan might change that, quickly. It's weird, as it looks a cracking pitch to bat on.

Huge wicket for S/L. Root out to a leg side delivery with a slight nick. It would have been a wide if he had left it. 127/4 now, still need 106 off 19.3 overs.

Buttler gone now, fucking Malinga again. 144/5 need 89 off a 105 balls. Gonna be close this. Good job we bat deep.

Looks a difficult wicket to bat on mate, easy for the batsmen to play a loose shot at anytime to a good or even bad ball, ball seems to be sticking in the pitch so never a true or even bounce. Still, a poor performance, summed up by Ali holing out after hitting a six and then trying another, dumb.

There is absolutely no need to play any loose shots chasing 233 against a poor side. This is just shite. Typified by Ali, a player I couldn't possibly rate less.

Thought it was a good wicket early doors after listening to the supposed experts and seeing a few lovely drives in between the poor batting from S/L openers. Turns out to be totally misread by all, including new batsmen coming to the crease.

Difficult wicket to bat on now in a one day game means 275-300 is par, rather than 325-350.

If we play like this against NZ or Australia they'll beat us. Against India, they'll trounce us.

Yeah, but these wickets are the type England struggle on. Totally different team on others.

Still think we lack sensible middle order batsmen. When conditions are perfect we look almost unbeatable. As soon as it isn't a road we look awful. Why are we so incapable of adapting?

Probably because we aren't as adaptable as the Captain and selectors think.
