I mean, it's shit from England and all that, and there's a few of this team have no right playing Test cricket (if I see Bairstow's leaden legs stomping about in front of the stumps wearing white trousers in 20 years it'll be too soon). But bearing in mind India were bowled out for <150 on days 1-2 with a part-time spinner taking 5-8, it doesn't say much about the state of the pitch, either.

The last Test I found some of the griping about the pitch a bit whiney to be honest, given that Ashwin - a no8 batsman no less - made a century: it was shown that you could make runs if you applied yourself properly. But this one is a bit of a joke, as fun as it is.

Can't believe we've been made to play on a pitch in India that turns.

Especially as we don't have much of a home advantage with the ball swinging round corners.

I know, right? Its almost like most home sides don't tailor pitches to suit their own conditions and India didn't learn from the first test...

Despite the loss of 2 in the first over I thought we looked relatively comfortable until Sibley decided to throw his wicket away with a terrible shot.

I get the need to not be bogged down, but an opening batsman should be able to control the urge to slog in that match situation. So much time left in the game just keep ticking over.

Nothing wrong with preparing a pitch to suit your team but this one has taken the piss. Same as the last one.

It’s like us not even bothering to cut the grass on a pitch over here.

A 2 day test is a piss take.

Root got a Michelle. If you think is a standard pitch then give your head a wobble.
