Decent start to the short trip to South Africa, both sides doing better than expected after so long away from the game and no warm up games.

2nd 20-20 at noon on Sunday

Scorecards or it never happened.

Thanks, I didn't even realise this was going ahead.

Obviously they were all shit in that innings but the whole game got me thinking about test openers. They're all shit now aren't they? 20 over cricket is so different that an old fashioned opener that actually knows where his off stump is, can play swing, etc, simply doesn't exist any more. The better batsman just swerve it and bat middle order.

Someone that bats six in a modern test match can adapt relatively easily to 50 over games and even 20 over games.

Atherton would probably be the best test opener in the world if he was playing now.

Bit of a shame for me.

Unless it's a road, no one can bat properly nowadays.

Seriously... Holding, Roberts, Garner and Croft would have had India all out for 9 today.

Another great innings from captain Kane Williamson (238) who also becomes the number one test batsman as New Zealand score 659-6 against Pakistan which means as seems likely they win this series 2-0 they become the number one ranked team in the world.

Great response for the Pakistan players after they finally get him out
