India will be looking to leave everything that's just wide of off, but their bowlers were getting swing this morning so England's bowlers should be able to do the same and get the Indians playing. Just keep bowling deliveries the Indian batsmen have to deal with. Some will go for boundaries but if done properly, wickets should fall regularly.

Consistency and patience will be key. That’s exactly why I wouldn’t let Broad have the new ball.

Has a bit of a feel of that doesn't it Ian ?

Was really looking forward to this series, but unless the weather turns hot again it looks like we'll wipe the floor with them.

I am not really sure how we will ever get on top of decent spinners as we never get enough practice against them over here & we don't have enough warm-ups when we are in the sub-continent anyway.

Shit, just saw the scores. Did it rain at all today?

I can give India a bit of slack for the 1st innings, as it's the worst possible way to have to bat- waiting a day, then on and off all day having to constantly re-start your innings against a moving ball. All of this in their most foreign conditions being capitalized on by excellent bowling.

The 2nd innings was a chance to get some time in the middle, even if defeat was a real possibility.

Hopefully they get going in the next Test, from a neutral perspective.

Ben Stokes acquitted.

Can't help the MCC jumped a bit early & set a poor precedent by not taking him to the Antipodes last winter.

Obviously if he had been charged and found guilty subsequently then throw the book at him.

If he’d been found guilty then i’d think he would already have served his punishment by being stripped of the vice-captaincy and missing out on the tour of Australia.

People make mistakes.

He's a balding ginger kiwi. At his peak he looked like this:

Give the poor guy a break...

He was guilty as fuck.

The gay couple have backed his side of the story and said they were amazed that 2 famous sportsmen were prepared to come and defend them from homophobic abuse. They were prepared to help the defence but the defence decided not to call them. ( Unfortunately they have sold their story to the S*n ). Making the likes of Vic Marks in the Guardian & Dan Roan on BBC Sport look a pair of hand-wringing arseholes, as both had obviously written their poison pieces before the verdict.
