Also glad to see Cook carry his bat. It may be true that it's too late, doesnt matter, pressure off, etc, but anything that lends Alistair Cook form and confidence is good news for English cricket. There will be life after the Ashes, and more series to play, and he's the only Test class opening batsman in the country. We need him to be on the up.

Need the seamers to perform given how Moeen has been bowling. He can't even be relied upon to tie down an end in current form.  It's probably not his fault because of his injured finger, I really like him when he's at his best.  

 

Hopefully I've commentator's cursed him there and he'll snaffle a few out but I just can't see it.

But it just makes the exclusion of Wood from the tour even more baffling for me, as he's one of the best reverse swing bowlers we have.  Add his pace, having Ball over him in the touring squad - baffles me.  I know he had a poor summer but he still offers more.
