Why have they ambulance people hooked the guy up on a stretcher with all oxygen and things. Why not drag the cunt by his hair up and down along the bridge until his limbs fell off. I don't get why they would waste time, effort and money just to make out they are doing the "right" thing from a human point of view, fuck that shit.

Because we don't live in a feudal society?

They should cut his head off and play football with it in front of parliament with everyone chanting "1-0 to the Democracy". Probably end terrorism overnight.

The Mayans built special  courts to play a team game with the severed heads of their enemies. The consequences for the losers if I remember correctly were not great. . I see great potential in a modern version of this ancient South American favourite

A shooting in central Lille has left 'at least three wounded' and sparked fears of a terror attack coming days after a man attacked a policeman at Paris Orly airport.

It is unclear who carried out the attack and whether or not it is still ongoing.

Armed police have sealed off roads into the city centre as they try to contain the situation.

French reports say there were several shots fired near the Porte d'Arras metro station at around 9.50pm.

At least three people were injured, including a 14-year-old.

Those injured received wounds all over their bodies, reports French news site La Voix Du Nord.

The attack, which is now believed to be gang-related sparked fears of a terror attack due to its location close to a metro station.

The identity of the those injured in the attack is unknown.

It comes as France remains in a high state of alert following a string of Islamist terror attacks during the past 12 months.

It comes after it was revealed that the suspected Islamist terrorist gunned down at Paris Orly airport last Saturday originally launched attacks on a police traffic patrol and a packed bar with a pellet gun.

This meant tha t Ziyed Ben Belgacem, a 39-year-old criminal with 15 years in prison behind him , was unable to kill or seriously wound anyone, forcing him to try and steal a soldier’s assault rifle.

He was promptly gunned down in an airport terminal, on the day that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were visiting the French capital.

The revelation follows claims by France’s most senior intelligence chief that would-be jihadists are finding it increasingly difficult to find weapons, ammunition and other explosives.

Ben Belgacem was thought to be high on drugs and alcohol

Patrick Calvar, who run the DGSI agency – France’s equivalent of MI5 – told a parliamentary committee last month: "Several incidents show us that the candidates for violent action are numerous but that they face logistical problems, especially in acquiring weapons."

Ben Belgacem was thought to be high on drugs and alcohol when he first pointed the 9mm pellet gun at a policewoman who had stopped his Renault Clio in the northern suburbs of Paris.

A suspected terrorist was arrested in Belgium yesterday after he allegedly tried to drive a car into shoppers on a pedestrianised street - less than 24 hours after the attack in London.

The vehicle was reportedly full of liquid gas, knives and rifles.

Terrified pedestrians had to jump out of the way as the car entered the De Meir shopping street in Antwerp at high speed on Thursday morning.

The suspected driver, who was wearing camouflage, was later arrested by police, local media reported.

The incident was reportedly being investigated as a possible terrorist incident.

A federal prosecutor said the suspect is a French national who was living in France.

Local media said he was a 39-year-old named Mohamed R.

Why would people whose job it is to save lives try to save a life?

Complete fucking mystery.

9 people now in custody linked to the attack.

Westminster attacker Khalid Masood acted alone and there is no information to suggest further attacks are planned, Scotland Yard has said.

Masood killed three people and injured 50 when he drove a car into pedestrians on Wednesday. He then fatally stabbed a police officer before being shot dead by police - all within 82 seconds.

Police said it was possible "we will never understand why he did this"...

Eleven people were initially arrested over the incident and nine people in total have been released without charge.

They're not very likely to turn round and tell the authorities all their business though are they?

Remember when the Police murdered Jean Charles de Menezes?  The case for their defence was that they thought it was someone else that one officer was pinning down to his seat while another officer fired eight shots from point blank range at his head.  Well, it turns out that the person they were looking for was subsequently taken alive and proved to be a valuable source of information, which probably helped to save lives.

There are very good moral reasons why a state shouldn't use death squads.  If you're an amoral witless prick, you can still agree that there are very good practical reasons.

Not rocket science is it?

It hardly would have taken 11 masterminds to plan for a bloke to drive a car fast along a crowded footpath.

They raided homes and charged people to keep the public fear, loathing and outrage factor bubbling over nicely.

It reminds me of that scene in Life of Brian, where the Romans raid the Judean rebel house for a second time.  And find a spoon.

So this was a lone psychopath who did this? Not long ago this would have been classed alongside a Hungerford or Dunblane tragedy. Did this guy leave his passport in the car or shout 'Allahu Akhbar' or will this come out later when the cunts in goverment as either invading another Middle Eastern country or justifying more of a crackdown on the 'democracy' that we are being lectured on?

Brilliant isn't it?

We're meant to breathe a sigh of relief when it's "only" a lone wolf cunt... rather than those evil, sophisticated, systematic Muslim terrorist organisations.

Has nobody looked at a possible link between the almost non existent resources given to our mental health services and a crazed assassin who murders 8 people in broad daylight in the nation's capital?

What the fuck are you on about? They arrested people to aid the investigation of the crime, being arrested gives those arrested certain rights. Namely being charged (usually within 24 hours) or released. There was no crime so they were released. Stop being dramatic.

I fucking love that scene.  All the nonsense the old fella is spouting when he's walking to the door and then John Cleese's face when dozens of soldiers are tramping past him.

You get arrested nowadays to help the investigation of a crime?

That's sounds pretty dramatic.

Relax, Rico, I'm no leftie sympathiser, mate.

But we need to know, amongst friends, when to call bullshit.

Amber Rudd now attacking whatsapp encryption because the guy was apparently using it just before the attack.

Not like politicians to use such things to further erode civil liberties in the name of 'fighting terrorism' is it??

Tricky one that.

If you thought that the killer had written a letter describing exactly why he'd done it, naming all accomplices and those who'd inspired him and put that letter in a safety deposit box in a bank would you ask the bank to open the safety deposit box?

One person would've used that safety deposit box...

And you wouldn't want them to be given carte blanche to look in all the other safety deposit boxes.

If writing letters and putting them in safety deposit boxes was used by millions of people going about their perfectly legal and 'non-terrorist' day to day lives, then no, I wouldn't.

Just treat all incidents for what they are, horrendous criminal acts. The media constantly trying to elevate an incident like this to an Islamist based conspiracy really isn't helping. Most of these attacks are carried out by violent, deeply troubled individuals that seem to have more in common with the rage killings we see in the US from time to time. Many of these individuals are motivated by pretty bizarre belief systems and we don't pay much attention to them because they are crazy.

I'd suggest that only something like the Paris attacks recently fall under the para-military style terrorism.

Fair enough, it's a good argument. I don't know what the 'right' answer is. I just wouldn't expect a private company to keep all my secrets.

Put in place a system where the authorities can make an emergency application to a judge (out of hours if necessary) for an order accessing his account, so Whassap can decrypt his, and only his, data. The judge can provide oversight as to whether the access is needed and whether any further access is required from other users with whom he was communicating.
