Fascinating Liverpool pictures

If anyone's anywhere near Mann Island in the next couple of weeks, it's worth dropping into the Open Eye gallery.  They've got an exhibition on (until the 25th, I think) of old pictures of the Pier Head, the Ferries and Seacombe from the 80s and 90s.

Cheers for the head's up.

Was thinking back to my formative years earlier, and getting into role-playing games. I was looking for a picture of Games, which was located on the corner of Victoria St and Old Haymarket, but was beginning to think that I was going mad because I couldn't find a picture of it. Then I found a before and after on Urban Splash. That sign was yellow, as I recall, with a bishop chess piece to the right of the word Games. The ground floor was devoted to conventional board games, while down in the basement they had the role playing games.

I note the old Soldier Of Fortune (SOF) military surplus shop a bit further along as well.

Mad to think that was only the 80's yet now it's consigned to history.

Found a better picture below. Pretty sure those a re dice to the left of Games and a chess piece to the right.

Brilliant line up for one gig , but wouldn't be on for long would they if the shows were 2 hours 20 apart and there are 7 of them. The later Pink Floyd would barely have played one song.

Can't see how The Who would have made much money, that's two guitars and drum kits getting smashed up every night

Just looking around the Tom Wood exhibition at the Open Eye gallery. The ferry landing stage pictures from 79-81 really brought back memories. It's odd realising just how much you've tucked away and forgotten about how things were.
