Allinsons was a big part of my childhood as me mum worked there from late 60s to about 76 , me dad was on the door sometimes with Eddy anf Charlie Connelly , she was only saying the other day about the various acts she met as they had a drink after the show and one was Tommy Cooper as shown on that poster, liked his drink .

Roe Street again where you can just make out the famous Cunarder ...Used to love that pub especially Friday, Saturday nights .

 

A place where many a young naïve lad was stood up too........

Wasn't there a laddish clothes shop just along there?  I used to buy my jeans there.  I've got a feeling it was called Eric's (nowt to do with the music club)?

I remember a shop called Tony Harris , i think it was at the front of Lime St station though just along from the Punch and Judy?

 

You could be right there on the place.  I have a hazy memory of being "upstairs" on a balcony overlooking the street with my bag after I'd bought my drainpipe jeans, and the balcony in the pictures looked like it.  But yes, I reckon it was Lime Street.  But I'm not 100% on that name.

Yeah there was a row of shops across the way from St Johns and over the subway?
