Isn't there a power struggle at Arsenal going on in the background?  They don't have CL football and it's looking hard for them to get back into the top four.  They could do without the Europa League, too.  Looking precarious for them.  The one thing they did right was getting Lacazette done before Neymar changed the landscape.

Apparently they've 8 players with ome year left and 9 the year after in the same boat.

 

As bad as some of our business has been in recent windows, they're really fucking things up.

 

The Sanchez situation, having to reject 50m for one of the few world class players in the league, knowing you'll lose him for a free in 12 momths is pure stupidity to allow to happen.

 

If they miss out on the top four this year, they could struggle for years, especially if we got our act together in the transfer market.

It's an astonishing lack of squad management by Wenger and it is Wenger making the final decision. Just goes to show that the rumour about him being unable to make a decision and prevaricating are true. Having that many players winding down their contracts and eyeing a departure is not exactly going to help team moral or lead to them putting in committed performances.

Yep there's no way FSG would be prepared to splash the cash to this extent without a certain £100 million+ landing in the account. If we fail to land VVD and Lemar they'll say they tried everything and pocket another tidy transfer window profit.

Seriously though - whatever is happening at Arsenal does not look pretty.

 

The message is that they have no money for new signings, despite just bringing in 50m in sales. They've turned a profit this window and make the most out of ticket sales in Europe.

The line they're peddling is that it's due to an issue regarding the PL wages as a percentage of revenue or something, meaning they can't spend anything.

 

I didn't even think that this was a rule. It's either that or the below, which seems more likely.
