BREAKING NEWS

Potentially a big Neymar development...

La Liga have told Sky Sports News that they will NOT accept the payment from PSG to trigger Neymar’s release clause.

They are expecting PSG to visit their offices this afternoon.

A spokesman for the office of La Liga president Javier Tebas said:

"We will not accept the money for the liberation clause, the reason is that we have doubts that this money is in accordance with UEFA Financial Fair Play rules."

Neymar's buyout clause is believed to be €220m

Meanwhile, UEFA sources have told Sky Sports News that Neymar’s release clause cannot be blocked by La Liga because it’s a matter between the two clubs.

Is this a face-saving move by La Liga, on the verge of losing one of its star players, or could this become an unprecedented legal challenge?

If La Liga are trying to block this move, why do they insist on release clauses being in every contract? What's the point if they then turn round and say no? They didn't exactly block Barca's bid for Neymar in the first place when they paid twice as much as the record books show, it does really prove who actually runs la Liga.

Barca spitting their dummy out because they PSG have turned their players head and activated a release clause that they never thought would be met. Now they go running to La Liga complaining of breach in ffp regulations. Fuck them and the high horse they rode around on.

Yep.

What a strange decision from the lad.

Playing in a forward line with Messi and Suarez, you really can't get much better than that.

He reckons he's over shadowed by messi. Not sure who's at PSG but maybe the thought of being top dog there is a driver?

Also, him and his arl fella seem driven by money so the wedge PSG are offering might be too good to turn down as well?
