The midfield against Southampton was woeful. No real spark or creativity. That's why I'd like to see Coutinho and Lallana as our two central midfielders. We need to be much better with the ball and United's midfield can be got at as they don't have a natural holder.

 

Give Coutinho more of a chance to get on the ball and we can hurt them. Have Wijnaldum out wide, driving into the box. If it's not working, we can just swap Wijnaldum and Coutinho.

Sturridge and Can should be nowhere near the starting lineup. Even with Mane playing everything has looked ponderous when they've played, quite possibly the worst displays of the season have come with them starting.
