But Ocean Colour Scene around the time of Moseley Shoals were fucking brilliant, and are still great live.

 

Kasabian are also a great live act even though some of their tracks are gash.

I saw them at Glastonbury in 2003. I didn't know them either, but their live show was fucking brilliant.

Not in any order but Robert Plant, Shakti, Ravi Coltrane, Billy Cobham & King Crimson are probably the best.

 

I also saw some Italian kids playing old 50s style Rock'n'Roll in a bar in Rome on my Honeymoon & it was one of those ones where you don't even know there's a band on & they turn up & get the whole place bouncing, I can't for the life of me remember what they were called but they were fucking amazing.

Loads of other occasions, like Mook mentioned, when you either don't even know there will be a band or it's one you've never heard of and have pretty low expectations. The best of which was actually also in Italy, at a beer and pizza festival in the middle of a small park in a town of about 1200 people. Must have been at least half the population of the park there, singing along to words they didn't understand.

 

Really looking forward to seeing some Flamenco live in January.
