I used to drink these regularly until I got myself and 2 scouse mates absolutley smashed on it whilst working at Sizewell. Drank so much of it we had to take the next day off in case we were randomly tested. The hangover was the worst I have ever experienced and I do believe it has been outlawed by human rights watch as cruel and unusual punishment.

Still got some and have the odd one just to keep my eye in.

Can I ask what the point is in having all this? You can’t ever hope, or want, to drink it all (or if you do then you’ve got a serious alcohol problem and will be dead in a year) so is it a collectors thing?

Also, where do you keep it all?

It's just having the different flavours and trying out different drinks, similar to having a stacked spice cabinet or wine cellar. Everything's a little different, add a drop of water and it changes again, Sane with ice or even just leaving it out fir 10 minutes changes what you can taste. It all fits on 2 shelving units. I drink no more than twice during my shifts and only a standard measure at that. Then on my days off I'll drink what I want and if I even want to. No different to going out for food at various restaurant. As I have said before I don't have many hobbies, I don't have a family to support so my money goes onto the few things that interest me.

A old picture of one of the units

Made some infused vodka to try out the quick infusion method by Dave Arnold using a isi cream whipper.

Made some sechuan pepper infused vodka, think I needed to use more peppercorns but trial and error.

So got

Sechuan pepper

Cough candy

Rhubard and custard

Pineapple

See how they are in few days

I used to melt sweets into vodka and my best results were either werthers originals and drinking that neat or with milk. I called the 'Mucky Grandad' or Foxes glacier mints melted by unwrapping all the sweets in a pack, dropping them into the vodka, doing the lid up tihght and putting the bottle into a dishwasher cycle to warm the vodka and melt the sweets. Through accident and impatience we discovered that warm minty vodka is fucking brilliant, especially in cold weather.

What you are trying seems really intruiging and a few levels up from my crude methods. I'm off to google isi cream whipper

Sounds goodnight give it a try next time.

This is Dave Arnold giving a quick show of how it's done. Just don't buy a knock off isi as the pressure inside with 2 charges has caused them to explode.

If anyone is interested Amazon have a decent offer on

Makers mark 46 and Jim Beam single Barrell £30 and a 18 year old rum Kirk and Sweeney £40.

I also got lucky and got through the ballot/website in time on Ardbeg committee release for the limited edition bottles at a high ABV ahead of the public release of a set amount of bottles at a lower ABV.

I'm sure you won't but if you held on to that bottle you could probably double your money in a couple of years selling it

Yeah they often go for 3x the price.

I'll probably grab one of the next batch as they'll be limited but not as wanted in the long term. Should still go for double. Wanted to buy two of this release but its limited to one. I'm probably going to sign my grandad up as a committee member fkr next time so he can order me one

If I show up with kitchen, bog roll and a KFC can I self-quarantine at your place with access to the drinks?

I’m willing to bring two-ply soft bog roll.
