Decent Footy Books

Cant beat a good footy read. Loved 'Here we go gathering cups in May'. Some brilliant stories in that. Nicky Allt 'Boys from the Mersey' is one of the funniest books I've ever read. Carras auto-biography was brilliant and all.

Away from Liverpool books, I really like 'Calcio - The history of italian football' and the first 'Secret Footballer' was a good read as well even though its blatantly Dave Kitson and he is a cunt.

The Damned United by David Peace....great film , great book

Really decent that film. Thought the fella who played Clough was great. His name escapes me.

Ive got a different Clough book called 'Provided you don't kiss me'. Decent insite into a wanker of a man but a boss footy manager.

If you're looking for good reading, I would recommend The Blizzard. Some of you will have heard of this. It's a quarterly publication that's been around for 4 or 5 years now I think. Jonathan Wilson is the editor and the content is widely varied, including biopic articles, articles on tactical innovation, articles on great matches, some fictional stories, some thesis-like philosophical articles and interviews.

You can order it online from The Blizzard's website as a print edition, or get a subscription for the online version, or even get individual online editions on a pay-what-you-like basis. Even putting £1 for each edition is much much better value than all the normal monthly publications, although you CAN get each edition for just a penny on this basis. Doing that is taking the piss though because it's the revenue from sales that keeps them going because they don't stuff it with shitloads of advertising.
