Austerity was a tremendous success for the neo liberal mindset. Shrank the state massively, put public assets in private hands while transferring private debt to the public purse, and made us generally satisfied with less. Tremendous achievement, a sort of inverted New Deal.

Well not quite. Cameron and Osbourne got fucked off after the referendum wheeze backfired largely because they allowed austerity to blow back in their faces.

A thread from a welfare rights bloke about how one of his clients suffered from a condition known as "refeeding syndrome", a condition sometimes seen in starved POW's, after she got some emergency food from her local foodbank but her body couldn't cope with a sudden increased intake of food as it was in starvation mode.

The thread suggests that the situation was brought about by a lack of money/income due to red tape and apparently shocking decision making by the DWP.

It's 2018, for fucks sake!

Don't see an issue with the principle of it. I know people who have seen bits of old, good furniture about to be chucked out and restored it. Obviously they have the know how, but why not apply that globally?

Of course, If he's saying it in typical Tory fashion he can get to fuck.
