Got a Lite for my daughter for Xmas, she’ll be 5 and a half.

Got her Animal Crossing & Paw Patrol (thanks John!), Aladdin & Lion King. I have Mario Kart, Part, Olympics & the SNES games she can play.

Could anybody recommend any of the cheaper downloadable games for her please?

I'll try and add a few on here as I find them...Some of these are sale prices and are correct at posting, it's worth checking the dates of expiry of sale prices in case you miss them.

Start with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle currently on sale for £11.09

Rayman Legends is currently on sale too for £7.49

https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Search/Search-299117.html?q=rayman legends&f=147393

Cooking Tycoons is also on sale for £3.50

Conduct Together is a kid friendly family game at on sale at £1.79

https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/Conduct-TOGETHER--1481770.html

Toki Tori is a fun game for kids at 94p

https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/Toki-Tori-1349476.html

Along with the sequel Toki Tori 2 reduced currently from £13.49 to 94p

A current personal recommendation would be Lomo reduced from £19.99 to £1.99, a throwback to 3D isometric adventure games.

Decided she's not having one. I'm worried it'll take over reading and Lego as her favourite passtimes.

You could buy her Lego games and visual novels that are very popular on the switch. Reading the words and hearing them spoken can help solidify learning. Lego games have a lot of problem solving.

Anyone bought anything recently? Was tempted to get Google Stadia but think I'll stick to the Switch - handheld mode is a godsend.

Looking at Wolfenstein 2, Bioshock, Crysis, Witcher 3, Hellblade, Bayonetta - will keep an eye on sales.

Have you not played those games on other systems before?

I tend to buy indie titles more on the Switch. What they lack in production value, they make for in gameplay and TLC.

Some of the games I have purchased recently include:

Blazing Chrome

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 1 & 2

Darkest Dungeon

Dead Cells

Duke Nukem 3D

Golf Story

Hades

Hollow Knight

Iconoclasts

Mark of the Ninja:Remastered

Okami

Pure Pool

They're cheaper than the AAA titles and often go on sale. Golf Story as an example is brilliant fun, normally sells for £13.99. I think it's currently £6.49 - 50% off.

Edit: I think you can get Iconoclasts and Darkest Dungeon on the Vita freestore.

Bioshock is brilliant, as is Wolfenstein 2. Witcher 3 awesome and the two Bayonetta games are great too.

Great. I'll keep an eye out on the sales. Also looking to get them actual copies and not downloads, if possible.

I'll probably also get Commandos 2, even though I had it on PC and found it impossible. More of a nostalgic purchase.

Bought hard copy Bioshock Collection (Amazon £22) and a new 200gb SD card (Amazon £19).

Couldn't get in the Switch store so will have a look later.

I would 100% recommend also getting at least a US account so you can also buy games on the US estore. I've often got hold of the same title on the US store at quarter the price of the UK store.
