Bt commentary just claimed that we've only lost 1 of his last 40 starts.

Would need to see how many of them where with and without Van Dijk, but on the face of it, that's fucking ridiculous.

In some ways it's not that surprising. Those 40 matches will have been over 3 season (plus this one), the front of last year (we didn't lose many), the part of our league winning season when we didn't lose many and the back end of 18/19 when we were chasing down city losing just 1 game all season and winning the CL.

Understand i'm tempting fate here, but think the lengthy time of the sidelines might have allowed his body to heal and we will get the best year out of him since he's been at the club. Really can't see much difference between him and Virg at this point, just pure class.

He is absolute class.

But lets wait until the demands of playing 2 or 3 times a week start before declaring him fixed...

Of course we may choose given our options there now to not risk putting him through that.

He's fucking brilliant but would be nuts to play him mid week.

The problem is that it's also risky playing VVD three times in six days also.

I would start with Matip and Gomez or Kounate. We will need to rotate the defenders over the next few months.

Think I read Klopp saying the CBs can’t play all games, and all of the will get games. Gonna be interesting to see if he plays them as pairs, Van Dijk and Matip as first choice and Gomez and Konate as second. Or if he rotates one at a time, which would give a lot of different pairings.

Yeah its an interesting one.

Centre halves usually are 'pairs' aren't they and that is how you develop understandings, even things like who is which side etc.

Sure Klopp has idea in his head what wants to do and how he can best do it....hopefully all 4 stay fit and the options stay strong and plentiful.

He was great today, though he wasn't exposed too many times due to the excellent work of Fabinho and Thiago.

That’s a fair point. Fitness permitting, 1-0 should be enough to win most games with that set-up.

That's the beauty.

And that's how we won the league, really.

And that's how we'll win it again.

He’s fucking ace, although he should have slipped Mo in before he scored!

Nah. He knew I needed a Trent assist for my fantasy team.

He's phenomenal.

His and Virgil's great comebacks give Jurgen a good headache now with Gomez, Konate and Phillips struggling to get any minutes at all. Not sure we'll risk changing things up against Milan either. A loan would surely have been good for Nat and for us. Can anything be set up in that regard outside of transfer windows?
