He's great when he plays. Glad to hear this is only a minor setback for him by our current cursed standards. Kane and Son are a significantly greater challenge than whatever Palace will throw at us, so I'd be prioritising the Spurs game for him.

Can see the logic of that, but if he isn't 100%, he could get injured and set himself back for weeks and miss some huge games for us.

Palace, Southampton and Newcastle away won't be easy for a tired team. The two home games against Burnley and WBA offer the chance to rest 1 or 2 especially him. I would love to rest Fabinho but no chance of that.

I reckon Kane could target him if he senses he isn't 100% to put him out for a few weeks. In fact, I think a lot of opposition players could do the same.

One of the best defenders in the world. Such a shame if he plays fifteen games a year, it's a result.

We should leave him on the bench for West Brom and let him have the Newcastle and Southampton games, then another break until the United game.

Him and Fabinho are a great partnership.

My guess is he'll play the wba game and rest for Newcastle. It'll means he gets 8 days off till wba, 8 days off till Southampton and 2 weeks off till the mancs.

You could be right Barrington. In fact that might make a lot more sense. Not sure about risking him in two games in fairly quick succession.

Yeah, we clearly need to nurse him through. I think this is the reality for the rest of the season. It becomes a problem when we've got 2 really tough games in a few days.

His injuries always look innocuous....but they keep coming and it just can't go on.

Has to be replaced and replaced in next month - his replacement will be needed desperately to come in and play because of the injuries to Gomez and VVD and if Matip plays a bit as well then its a bonus, but we have to do something this month - to not do so would be suicide.

People take the piss out of Matip but at least he is good when he plays - and sometimes plays.

Keita is useless.

Aye, I mean you can’t rely on Matip but at least he can play on the rare occasion that he is fit, Keita is turd and is easily one of our worst ever signings given the fee and hype.
