What the serious fuck is going on with our medical team. Every player who is supposed to be out for a few weeks ends up out for months.

Maybe the problem is with whoever decides to downplay the seriousness of their injuries?

You should know by now he is fine means 2 to 3 weeks, he is not ready for this Saturday is a month, we will see after the international break is 3 months and he is making progress means we will probably see him next season.

I used to know someone who worked in the NHS and he was quite high up the chain. Quite often he would find out about people who were checking in to rehab and they would always publicise that this person was in for alcohol/cocaine/crack cocaine/heroine etc and there was a hierarchical list of severity where alcohol was at the bottom with. The public declaration was always the one below that it was in private, so alcohol was cocaine, cocaine was crack etc. Sounds like the same thing is happening with our medical team.

I suspect its not the competence of our medical staff and more to do with drip feeding bad news to our rivals

Klopp was asked about centre back Joel Matip at the pre-Everton briefing and said: "Joel needs a bit more time. It’s healing but it’s not exactly how we wished for so that will take a while. The rest are fit."

That's a hell of a recovery by Fab!

Considering we pay squillions for our medical department, they do seem to get the diagnosis wrong a fair amount.

They may choose to be economical with the truth for a number of reasons that benefit the team.

In my opinion, they've done a brilliant job over the couple of years in generally keeping our best players fit and available. A challenging month or two ahead for them now though with the glut of fixtures.

Liverpool injuries are a lot like when a tory mp gets caught with an under age prostitute. Week by week it goes something like this

'I never even spoke to her.'

'Well,we exchanged a few words.'

'OK,we had a couple of drinks.'

'We actually went to my room where she forcibly performed oral sex on me.'

'I apologise that I banged her eight ways from Sunday and I will now spend more time with my family.'

Disappointing. Thought he was over his regular injury spells. VVD and Lovren will need a rest at some point. VVD and Gomez for bournemouth? Lovren and Gomez for watford?

We've been more leaky at the back since he got injured and I don't think we'd have conceded that first goal last night if it was Matip instead of Lovren involved. Lovren's been pretty decent but seems to be heavily involved when things don't go as well as they should defensively.
