No to Payet from me. He's 29, would cost a fortune & I don't think he's the hardest work, that Klopp demands.

Mahrez? Certainly, he'd be brilliant & ticks all the boxes other than will be huge fee & Leicester probably won't sell.

I suspect the new attacking wide player won't be from the Premier League. Although Manè was great value given what he's done... I suspect Klopp will see equally good players in Germany who are easier to attract & cheaper.

Forget big names, big prices, big egos.

It's all about younger (not Payet / Vardy), hungrier (not Depay), good value £ ( not likely Mahrez) futures stars with Klopp which he can mould into his team & raise their reputation - Pulisic sounds most realistic.

Read somewhere that Julian Brandt has a €15m release clause.

The kid is a class act and is going to be a star.

Reminds me a lot of a younger, perhaps even more talented version of Andrij Yarmolenko. Settle yourself Jairz.

Either him or Christian Pulisic to come in in January would be sanguine mentalist OTT overkill.

Also reckon Inter could well deal Gabigol and Dahoud is offski from BMG surely ?

Sule or Tah ? In the summer, Id have gone for Jonathan Tah, his extra pace just giving him the edge. Not now though, I think Tah has been pretty poor this season and I would definitely now rate Niklas Sule more highly.

That said, out of the two of them I'd still go for Van Dijk. Just.

What about the other CB that Pistonbroke mentioned the other day?

Who are you on about mate ?

I know you follow the BL mate and you rate a few CB's we should be interested in. Have you seen that Dominique Heintz play for Koln? Only 23 and he is coming on in leaps and bounds, very comfortable on the ball, excellent in the air and can fill in at LB (naturally left footed.) He can't be far from a call up from the U21's to the senior German squad. Current market value is about 5 million, well worth a punt IMO if we don't want to spend too much on that position. The fact he can cover LB would mean we could fuck Moreno off and use him there should Milner need a rest or get injured.

Guest Pistonbroke

After watching a lot of Koln's Heintz I wouldn't mind at all if Klopp was interested in him. He would be a lot cheaper than the more obvious choices (although I have a feeling he'll end up being worth more in a season or two) and his versatility and natural left foot would be a huge bonus.

Must say that I haven't seen a great deal of Cologne's centre back Dominique Heintz, Pistonbroke is the man for German footy tbh... but I did just have a quick Ares Football gander at their last two games against Hamburg aand Frakfurt andd a few things stoood out.

Fistly, Heintz is a bit of a chunky monkey, the kid seems to be carrying a bit of timber.

In the Hamburg game his play acting got his opponent Bobby Wood sent off and that changed the game.

One to keep an eye on methinkss.

He has some medical thing where he grew to fast as a kid mate. (The specialists who have looked at it say it is not a problem whatsoever. ) He kind of walks/runs with a bent back which makes him look a bit chunkier than he actually is. I wouldn't say he is the most physical looking player mind as in body, he certainly puts himself about on the pitch, Klopp would no doubt bring the best out of him.

I shall monitor his progress more closely over the season mate.
