They're mostly second and third generation Cockneys, the children and grandchildren of people who moved to Essex. A lot of of traditional West Ham fans were/are sound. Ordinary working class people who bar the accent are not that dissimilar to Scousers.

I read somewhere recently that England were 14/1 to win the World Cup before the tournament. I think a lot of people nowadays assume that England as the host nation were one of the favourites.

Got some real knobheads...went to the cup replay there last season and their fans in that corner by us were bad bells...really bad - full repertoire of shit songs about us including always the victim complete with £50 note waving.

One Evertonian I know went there in the mid nineties when he was about 17. His mate got battered after being chased for a mile or so. Nearly lost the sight in his eye. All these proper hard knock West Ham fans in their mid 30s beating up a pair of 17 year old lads.
